Ah, your taking it a step too far.

You have permission to use LoS from the Center for "Wound Allocation". Inside the Wound Allocation section is the rule for OoS. So no matter where you draw your LoS from (center or firer) you still have to follow all the Wound Allocation steps, which include the rule for OoS.

Which is fine, because for the purposes of wound allocation you draw LOS from the centre of the marker.

Barrage is the one non-LOS-style weapon that they actually got right in this edition.
