How is that any different than Space Wolves, who basically laugh in the face of the Inquisition and the Codex Astartes?
DA are not the first to break the rules
The big difference is that the Space Wolves don't actively attack other Imperial institutions or Space Marines. The
SW did get into conflict with the Inquisition, but rather than attacking and assassinating any offending inquisitors, they remained oassive and non-violent until the Inquisition started to fire on them, at which point they defended themselves. The Dark Angels on the other hand have attacked their allies without any need to defend themselves.

But the
DA are the violent and aggressive ones....
exceptg those incidents don't priove anything. the first incident was the eclisiarchy trying to boss around a Space Marine chapter with regards to their homeworld. Beyond their mandate, plain and simple. the Space Wolves had no reason to let them into the Fang. if the Imperial Church tried that with ANY space Marine chapter it would have ended poorly. The second event was a conflict with the Inqusition yes, but the meat of the arguement was over what they perceived as the good of the
IoM. they may have disagreed with the Inqusition but at the same time it, in my opinion at least, showed loyalty to the
IoM not disloyalty
Automatically Appended Next Post: In both cases, the Inquisition wanted the SW to submit to an order from the Imperium. In the Fenris Incident, they literally just wanted to come in and investigate, but Russ flipped out and opened fire on their vehicle.
The DA have a secret that, if exposed, would likely mean that they would be purged or labeled traitors by the entire IoM. What's the SW reason? They're grumpy wolf-children who stick together and dislike outsiders or people who question their traditions
ok in the Fenris Incident, it was NOT the Inqusition coming to investigate them. it was the ECLISIARCHY. the Church. they where WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of their mandate going to Fenris and demanding the space wolves submit to their judgement. the Space Wolves where simply, like any chapter would, protecting their tradtional independance.
meanwhile the dark angels. well, there's no tradtional astartes rights involved. no principaled stand for the people. no it's just as you yourself said, blatent self intreast at the expense of everyone else.
