I'd play against him.
Using just the LoTD supplement.
Oh look I tabled myself, time to go do something worth doing, good game.

I guess you missed the part where the army in the OP is a Reaver and some knights? They don't have any non-titan forces, and that's the problem.
It's a legal army after all.
Does the Knight codex have LoW detachment? If so, then it's even battleforged. If not, unbound is perfectly allowed by RAW.

I'm not disputing that it's a legal army, I was just correcting a strategy discussion referring to the "other forces" in the army since no such other forces exist.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

It depends.
1. Do I even have an army that remotely can produce a challenging game. If I don't, then most likely not. I've had multiple armies in the past designed just for this specific purpose. With so much variety in 40K now, it can be extremely challenging to play a PUG these days.
2. In the OP post, he stated the other player is generally a nice guy. It would take a bit more of an explanation, but if the reality is what I brought is such a bad matchup, the game really is not going to be enjoyable for either party.
3. I have played against a similar army, but I also had a Revenant and 20 Brightlances in a 2000 point army IE: both armies were tailored knowing the big stuff could show up.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

Yep, even if I stood as much chance as a fart in a gale. If the guy was nice, I'd oblige.
I might question why he brought those things to a PUG as the more notice, the more challenging lists folks could assemble. But sometimes you've just got something really damn cool? Why not.

Yes, absolutely. I may not play it a second time around, but I would definitely give it a go just to face a Reaver.

With my current attitude about 40k, probably not unless my list stood a chance or I had a list I could make that could stand a chance.
That said, if I stood even a little bit of a chance I would probably take it because I'm a sucker for a titan hunt.

4 Knights and a Reaver is an unbound army, pushing 3000 points. I'd give playing against him a shot, if I could scratch up 3000 points on my end, or talk him in to an unending re-supply of my removed units. And OMG would it be fun! Ever if all we did was waste the night removing my models, I'd make sure the Titan player was having a good time fielding his models, because that's the point of the hobby. If I wanted to beat people consistently, I'd stick to chess.

Hell yeah I'd play it. I'd love to see an army like that in person, especially across the table from a huge horde of Orks, classic matchup. I'm not saying I'd have a good chance to win, but it'd be fun to see how it turned out!
Next time, I'd bring a lot more anti-tank to see if I could really beat it if I tried

My only issue woudl be that I don't like playing more than 2000 points. But if he was willing to drop to 1850 - 2000 points, I'd give it a shot at least once. Probably 3 times. I'm kind of a chump like that.
I like facing challenges, and tryign to learn how to adapt to them. If I was still getting throttled after 3 games, I'd probably pass on the next go 'round. That applies to most any list though. I was being exterminated by White Scars + Knights, but by game 3 I was only losing "by a little bit" which was satisfying as far as the game goes. I've only beaten the list once, but I've had a few games that were within an objective, and a few where I would have won had the game ended "this turn".
So yeah, I'd give him a game at 2000 points or so. At least a few times.
