Nids? Really? I don't see it. If you're running swarm perhaps but you are losing sooo many games that all the guy has to do is avoid you round 1. Orks again I don't see it unless you're running Greentide in which case he's locking your entire army with that unit.
Necrons are the ones best equipped to Tarpit that unit with a competitive build.

It's just about finding the right counter. Most anti-tank Units will work: Melta Drop-Pods, a proper Tau Gunline, etc
Unfortunately the Exorcists can't hurt the unit if the CM is at the front as you're only S8. Remember bikes effect the ID threshold now. Same for melta though you can avoid him.
He's not going to be at the front of the Unit from 3 points of view
Fire whichever exorcist is "on his flank" and let the rest of your fully mechanised Rhino army drive around him, as you say.
I was just pointing out that there are really strong Units but you'll always find a counter. Just pie plate him with a Vindicator and see how they like that. Heck even get a Vindicator squadron for pretty much the same price as that Unit

Basically all the tanks plus thunderfire can be taken in squadrons, and gain a benefit if you take three. For vindicators taking three means one model fires a huge blast

The advantages are quite shiny, its like GW has worked out that squadrons are usually a bad idea, epecially in an edition where, tournament houserules aside, you can have as many force org slots as you have troops and hqs to fill the minimum requiremets...
