Ah great, just added on for some . This is a really attractive campaign for people to even just dip their toes into, since you get the rules and can add on individual models even at the lowest level!

(And of course once people join in they're more likely to pledge for more as the campaign progresses and the creator shows off more )

Hope we can entice more! Even if the just dip in for some of the minis just for their collection. I know I banged on about their first miniature's detail and quality but it is warranted! They have sold out of the first run of Gabriel so had to order more, this bodes very well for the future miniatures. Plus a Nexus 3D print is being printed as we Speak!

Now a question, would people want to see the stretch goals changed? Icarus are considering whether to add a couple of the other species as stretch goals? Thoughts?

Had to add as the thought of the print got me excited :D

I like the samurai cthulhuoid. May have to grab one or two figures if that guy is in the mix.

Good for the Nexus, and by the poll results, it seems that the next once we are funded are going to be the Ji'tar. I wish that also helps the KS, since a lot of people like the Ji'tar the most.

It's close but the Ji'Tar (or as their friends call them - samurai zoidberg!) are winning. Looks like we may be changing stretch goals to unlock their starter set, which means get your pledges in folks. I'm clearly not the only one after the samurai zoidbergs (I love that nickname thanks gitzbitah)

NEW update
More background on the universe and also focus on the Alliance. I do like some well thought out fluff. Makes me more likely to get involved in the universe

Do we know if we'll be able to increase pledges during the pledge manager, or is this going to be the type of KS where you're pretty much locked in once you put in your pledge?

I spoke to Anthony at Icarus, pledge manager will go out and ask for your details and Add-ons, if you want to add extra you then get a PayPal invoice for the extras and pay then. So good news I hope, though I'm rather impatient and would like everyone to put their money down now.

I do really want this KS to succeed

I love the look of the Icarus stuff and have been drooling at their concept art since BOW started showing it. The art for the Alliance Marine is pretty much the ideal "sci-fi soldier" in my eyes. I love the more hard sci-fi aesthetic. The aliens look unique and are done well also. I am really hoping this project would fund, but I think it probably has slowed too much since day one. I'll keep an eye on the project though and would love to see such nice concepts brought to life.

This does look cool. I really dig the look of the four armed aliens, and the alliance guys. I love the guy in the duster.

It's how human soldiers should look, love the look! The project will fund if people put their money down. Without KS it's not going to retail and Icarus have been bold asking for the large amount from the start. If they had but a smaller target as a lot do then it doesn't actually cover the actual costs, they really wanted the rulebook produced which has bumped the goal up
up.

It's still tracking to fund so just get some friends in everyone loves 4 armed alien killing machines!

I love almost everything here (except the alliance heads but those are an easy swap). If it doesn't end up funding, coming back with a lower goal is definitely not the end of the world - some campaigns have actually done even better the second time. I am hoping the response they see will cause them to do that even if they don't fund with the £30K / $45K goal.

A bit bummed that the marines got bumped off the stretches, but the Ji'Tar are really awesome, and it's great to see the Icarus team listening to their backers. I'll be pledging in when I get to a proper computer tonight. Any possibility of closed helmeted heads for the Alliance troopers in the future?

New update up! Free miniatures with the £75 pledge! And Ji'tar and Praesidian at that! I really hope the fence sitters pitch in! I agree about the closed helm, I have the Gabriel mini and the helm looks good, I do prefer the outrider helmet though

I heard the conch shell of google alerts and thought I'd drop in and say hello and thank you so much to everyone who has backed so far!

As was picked up on before, unlike a lot of projects these days, we need the money to be able to get the project launched. We're still ticking away, and the centre weeks of Kickstarter are always slow, but as long as people continue to find the project and see the minis, we should be fine.

If the project doesn't fund however, that will by no means be the last you see of Icarus, the rules will continue in playtesting and development will continue, albeit more slowly.

I'd due to get the first Nexus grunt print later this week, and as soon as it arrives I will snap some pictures and comparison shots. I will also work on some simple getting started videos explaining the rules.

If anyone has any questions about the game or the fluff, fire away and I'll get back to you asap

Much love
-Anto

Thank you for posting, Anto, and I'm really looking forward to seeing that print! This project is great and things like that (tangible minis) will only help it gain further exposure.

One question on funding, if this didn't make it would you consider trying again without the physical rulebook printing costs? Not sure how much that adds to the start up funds needed versus just getting a limited run of resin minis to start (with softback or pdf rules).

It was going to be softback for the rulebook but he got a deal that it could be made hardback at almost the same money! We still have time to fund this as is, almost 200 backers now, the first social stretch goal is in sight! If people keep seeing the quality/value of this and that sculpt arrives this could still blow up.

As Jimmy says, there's still plenty of time to fund, and more physical looks will only help.

But of course there is a plan in place for if the project doesn't fund. For quite a while I considered running this campaign with no physical rulebook, but honestly the dent it would have made to the funding goal would have been too small to really make a difference. The main cost is the sculpting of the minis, once their sculpted, production can be done in any run size so the goal can be low.

The reason for me that the rulebook has to stay as part of the wave one release is that once the Icarus Project is out in the world and in game stores, why would people pick it up to play off the shelf if they couldn't buy the book. Having a complete packaging, including the book, makes it a much more attractive game not only to the gamers, but also to the stores.

If the project doesn't fund, I'll be going away and continuing to get the sculpting done bit by bit. Some of the models that have already been printed, such as the gunslinger, will probably be put to general sale as soon as possible to raise money for the other sculpts.

But as long as we keep spreading the word, we'll fund and none of that will even matter
