I realized that I'm going to the same LGS for more than 20 years, so yes.
Always a warm welcome and time for a chat.
The owner also knows my taste for fantasy and SF books and his suggestions are correct in 9 of 10 books, which I really appreciate. The 10th book is usually complete crap
95% of my nerd-budged is spent there, as I would like to keep going there for at least the next 20 years
EDIT: *looking at the French flag* well my FLGS is in Germany, but right now I am not

Our LGS is extremely friendly, albeit not the most tidy place on earth. The one guy who runs it is a really good guy, and he does a hell of a job of running it despite the fact that he doesn't have any staff besides himself.
It does specialise in Magic: the Gathering rather than wargaming, but I do play MTG a lot more than any other game so that doesn't bother me, and they do have a night on a Thursday where it's relatively easy to get a game, and the players, besides a select few are also really wonderful people. Probably my favourite store I've ever been to, even in a tournament environment, there's a really friendly atmosphere where you can have a bit of a laugh that I've always been fond of.

There are several in my area, and the one I go to depends on who I am meeting to play with, or what specific products I need.
I go to the local GW store rarely, as very few of my friends go there, but when I do, the guy there is always positive, friendly and loves to talk about the game and models. If I do play a game there, I try to buy something.
My favorite store is a bit furthur away, and has tons of games, comics, etc. Great store, awesome staff, and good attitude of everyone there. I buy lots of board games there, and try to make sure I buy something anytime I play there.
The more "hobby/game" store in my area, has a much better selection of paints, tools, terrain etc. They also have a lot of good discounts, and the owner is a very good guy, and has been a gamer himself for many many years.
I am very lucky that I live in a big metro area, with a lot of stores - of course, there are some I would not go to even if they were closer - but that is more to them not having tables, etc. I have also been lucky to not run into too many douchebags or rude people.

When I was in Oceanside, CA, there were 2 FLGS that I played at.
One was really well established, and people were cool there for the most part.
The other one was just trying to get 40k going so I'd normally grab a buddy from the other store, and have him go there so I could get 2 days a week of play.
Both were really nice and accommodating. Where I am now, the closest one appears to have terrain but only carries army painter paints, and about 10 combined warhammer/40k boxes. The employees couldn't give me a straight answer when I asked what was the day people normally came to play, so I assumed that most likely no one played there.

I'm truly blessed to have some great stores in the local Youngstown area. Showed up at Fantastic games last night for my x wing league and the owner of the store gave us a Recon specialist card and acrylic focus tokens. Brian the store owner of fantastic games does stuff like that all the time. Crystal dragon is another great shop in the Youngstown area they hold warmachine leagues all the time and always have great prize support at their warmachine tournaments. Last warmachine tournament 1st prize was a warmachine battlefoam bag. Like I said I'm truly blessed with some great stores
