That doesn't violate the laws of physics. You could reduce the communication time to effectively zero, only if it went negative would there be problems. Communication would be more or less instant, but that doesn't really cause issues. Its not like you could send a message to your past or future self.
If you communicate faster than the speed of light then you violate the laws of physics. You'll have a situation where, from the reference frame of the receiver, they got your message before you sent it. As all reference frames are equally valid you have now created a paradox as it means that in all reference frames,
including your own, the message must have been received before it was sent. So you break causality.
