Oh. Well then I've no idea what's going with the thead anymore then.

Would an Ogryn really have an easy time with a SM in power armour? SM's are faster too. But Moral Kombat does have a rather small "stage" so to speak, so I guess the Ogryn has the advantage.

He was not the golden lord. The Emperor will carry us to the stars, but never beyond them. My dreams will be lies, if a golden lord does not rise.

I look to the stars now, with the old scrolls burning runes across my memory. And I see my own hands as I write these words. Erebus and Kor Phaeron speak the truth.

My hands. They, too, are golden.

Ogryn would be good at putting the Marine on the floor, and once you're on the floor, combat goes to the stronger, bulkier individual almost always.

Well they do have "mag-lock" boots if Macragge's Honour is to be believed, but I guess that requires a metal surface.

Not that they would help for the purposes of this discussion.... which is being sneaky.

We've moved on from that because the debate reached the point where it became a headcanon argument.

The tanith scouts could probably outstealth the ravenguard. Tho the ravenguard shadow walkers would probably trump them. But if it came to combat, the RG would slaughter the Tanith.

The tanith elites did take on a squad of chaos space marines in Traitor General.
IIRC

Spoiler:
One got killed by a demo charge, another by a long las, another by a power sword and the last by a hundreds of native poison darts

I think if it were RG vs Tanith hiding from other people, it'd be a fair comparison.

Otherwise despite my love for the forest men, they're found before the count to 100 is even done.

Its important to note that most of those arguments against the Tanith for doing frontal assaults come from the early books, before Van Voytz actually takes notice and uses them properly as scouts. They take enormous casualties in those frontal attacks.

Think of something clever to say.

Something people often ignore about this scenario is that those

poison darts are being fired from reynbows - which are magnetic induction weapons. You know, like railguns.

Grey Templar gets it. This is a curb stomp battle.

It isn't a battle, it's who spots who first/who can hide the best.

Correct, its a massacre.

I think GT was speaking figuratively.

No, its literally a massacre. All they see are a blur from the shadows and suddenly 5 Tanith fall cut to shreds with a Lightning Claw. Repeat till its over.

Its the formulaic slasher/horror movie plot. One by one the cast gets horribly murdered and nobody ever sees the culprit till its too late.

Turns out those Tanith were dummies filled with explosives and then the Marine die in the explosion, ah ah. Anyone can make up scenarios! And considering one guy could out stealth a Mandrake, I doubt the Marines would automatically detect the Tanith, magical ear bullgak and stuff that was crapped out because god forbids something negative happens to muh marines.
