Assault Marine squads and Ironclad Dreadnaughts? They aren't competitive, but they are what you're asking for.

Here are the CC-related Chapters:
-Ravenguard: Extra mobile ASMS plus some sneaky.
-White Scars: Mobility
-Iron Hands: 6+ FnP
-Space Sharks: CC weapons and potential for Rage
-Ultramarines: 1 turn of better CC to-hit rolls

None rewrite the Codex. They each do something different.

How about across the aisle, something with Khorne Daemonkin?

The crux of this whole issue is assaulting with meqs vs assaulting with better-than-meqs. If you just want to assault with meqs, any chapter can field ASMs. The SWs bring two units with multiple wounds, one of which being T5, to the table.

Oh, I thought you wanted a Vanilla Marines force.

If CSM is on the table, it does what you're asking perfectly.

Aside from being one of the weaker Dexes, and the choices you're looking for being some of their weaker options. But it does exactly what you're asking for.

How competitive does the choice need to be?

(KDK is a very melee-centric subset of CSM and Daemons. Same caveats as CSM.)

Just competitive enough to not lose to peeps at my FLGS, at least 50/50 win lose, and I just added the option cause I realized I wanted the playstyle more than the alliance.

Then CSM is not the correct choice.

CSM have a lot of overcosted crap. Or underpowered for the cost, depending on your viewpoint. If you face a lot of Tau/Eldar/IG, assaulting with meqs is going to get very frustrating.

You forgot the Minotaurs and Mantis Warriors (but the latter desperately needs some FAQ'ing). Executioners are lacking as well.

The PDF is on the FW website.

I recommend giving it, and the characters, a read. Tons of options.

Let's put it this way, which one will I win more with, pure melee BA, pure melee SW, or pure melee KDK? If I want to win I'll just run my smashing IH

Melee SW.

Thunderwolves are stupid.
Wolfen look crazy.

You get counterattack on your Devs and Tacs.

SW are also the ones where you get close to a horde army with Blood Claw spam.

Why are KDK bad?

I'd say it's not so much they're bad as it is they're not as good.

Let's just say if you win with pure melee blood Angels, you've found an exploit.

Pure melee space wolves are better, but honestly, pure melee anything is pretty gak. Space wolves are great because they have a mix of hard hitting melee units and great shooting units.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

Space wolves are the best melee marines cause you get options such as :thunderwolves, wulfen, bloodclaws, ven dread with axe and shield, murderfang and formations such as the company of the great wolf that boost wolf guard at WS5.
Also , no offence, where do you see the great shooting units ? and dont tell me long fangs (no signum and no herub upgrade, way too unreliable for the cost) and our wolf guard pay 1.0. points for combi meltas when dark angels and marines pay 10 points for meltaguns. The only great shooting option is wyrdstorm brotherhood with the living storm and the helm of durnfast in a pod.

A librarian conclave on bikes is the best close combat unit in my experience even if you don't join a utility squad such as a command bike squad or a TWC squad. Just their force weapons and powers alone make them worth it.

Okay, so I've narrowed my choices down to three ideas I like, but none of them will really be great. I'm just going to go with the ones I like the most, and would welcome advice on which is best and such. I modified my desire a little to fit into 40k. So, without further ado, my choices. The first idea is a big blob of AM guardsmen, with power grey Knights as support. Like a 30-40% GK, 60-70% infantry mob and a few tanks. The second idea is a allied detachment of IH smashfether with friends, and big blob of BT with blades and power fists. Same ratio as above. Then the next is basically the same as the first, but CSM, with cultists blobs and some elite chaos. The last choice is a giant mob of Orks with whatever Ork heavy support. I have to say my favorite choices are GK/AM and CSM/cultists, since I have some good fluff I mind for them.
