Next time I'm in the area, I'll bring some models

I picked up a couple of Ghar suits from Warlord as well, though they're destined to be AdMech constructs rather than actual Ghar. Blame yourself!

Loving the different models as always, these terrain pieces are looking great and great use of materials, so many options.

I hope to have enough done shortly because I have vacation in a few weeks and the wife will be out of town. Also my order for Kar'A nine should hit right at the end of vacation, hopefully the sprues I just ordered will arrive before then and I can finally get my kids into playing a game besides zombicide.

Can't go wrong with Ghar. glad I helped out there. Hopefully with your painting we can inspire more people to get into this game.

I found a few, but the ones I liked were $10 a sprig . And they just looked like twigs rolled in glue and then glitter, so I'll just make my own since I'm a cheapskate.

Well I made this yesterday

I used the plastic scrap pieces that were 20 + year old binder combs and mitered the ends to make a rectangle that's 2"x8" then added some wooden craft sticks to give it a little more height and another shadow line. It's supposed to look like a street median where they put plants and stuff.

Obviously the Gardner needs to be fired.
Now these little gems

Came out of a vase of dead flowers

Maybe not in the divider though, but plenty of landscaping options with their irregular shapes.

Neat. May look nice with some backlight. Alien crystal cluster objectives.

Great work on the garden, will look excellent with some plants growing in it. Maybe a tree.

Trees are always a fun problem.

Crystals look fabulous, can't wait to see where that goes. Could maybe have stuff half buried in the crystals. Car boot sticking out type of thing, make it look like a growth.

Yeah, still figuring some of that out, but a light underneath a pile might look really cool.

I was thinking of multiple small piles of crystals as objectives of some sort. By car boot do you mean the thing that locks a tire in place, or the trunk of the car? Too bad these don't come larger I could see making something like people stuck in amber from fringe .

So I mentioned taking apart a foosball table.....well, theirs lots of little foam rings, so a bit of glue and a strip of plastic card later and we have a tire wall.

I just hope the spray primer doesn't melt it all, but even if it does then it'll be a slag wall .

And also just for fun......still planning my Easter island display heads, made from the foosball players

I've got about 20-30 of these guys that could get chopped up for a field.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I'm still laughing from that picture . I'd be hacking these guys in half if for no other reason than to get rid of the chest part that the metal rod goes through.

Well not much to show progress wise. I did a bit of odds and ends painting, but nothing productive. But while the kids were at teens bible study I went next door to hobby lobby and bought more moss, this time in beige/brown. This will fit more of a dead tree look or tumbleweeds and scrubland/desert bases.

Hopefully some productive time tonight or in the morning.

Attack of the 50' tall foosball players....could easily have been a b movie.
Azazelx wrote:X-Men Sentinels?

The sentinels were a great concept, maybe if they ever launch a marvel game that doesn't get binned within a year .

Well, got some more cd terrain done this morning.

Trees, with fallen tree. It will get some grass flocking on the muddy ground once it dries more, but probably a pathway through the trees will be left.

And a lower view as well.

I shall reserve judgement for until you have revealed a boards worth of these disk-portioned terrain features

Yep, they'll get some more attention, just WIP as I wanted to see how the foliage looked.

a board full? Well I have about a dozen to the primed stage, few past that, but a whole board?

Well I put paint on another piece, still have to pick out the rubble from the base color. Good old 3rd edition buildings. I didn't want to go for standard colors, and I even broke open the old pot of chestnut ink .

The green floor didn't turn out quite how I wanted it to, but I think decent enough not to start from scratch.

That building exterior has come out really nicely. So much so that I may have to repaint some of mine when summer comes. Not so keen on that floor, though. I'd probably go for an off-white and then dirty the crap out of it.

I'll have to give it a go, as it is now it's just too gaudy.

The green will get some more attention, I have plans for a white floor though.

dsteingass wrote:I love the tire walls. Painting them tho. Where did that cool white SUV come from?

$5 car from family dollar, I picked up a few a ways back. Their either 1/53 or 1/56 scale, but work great for Zombicide.

inmygravenimage wrote:I'm with Vik, I say Green Marble!

I think that's probably going to happen. Always wanted to try it, now I can give it a shot and not worry too much about it as it's ruined anyway

Well no work on the marble yet, but I did put down some more color on the woodland area and touched up the rubble. Also spots on the terrain piece where the basing didn't stick got a couple coats of null oil to look like dark rank puddles of muck.

The old snot green basing will get toned down with flock on top of it and possibly a small path of brown where it's worn from people traipsing through.

Happy Father's Day to all who qualify . I'm sitting in the dark because storms knocked the power out here at 1:30am. My youngest daughter and I have a "Que's" your daddy cooking class at noon. Learning finer arts of barbecue at a local restaurant supply store here. They always have great teachers and sounds like a fun few hours.

tree trunks will definitely get more work done to them. Father's Day has been great so far....except for the lack of power and no air conditioning.

Momotaro wrote:This is all looking wonderful Theo!

Yep, posted it a week or so ago, not much hobby cash available right now so I only bought 2 Ghar bombards and another battle Ghar so I could make multiple squads.

GrimDork wrote:Happy Father's day indeed sir. Scenery is looking good . BBQ class sounds fun.

Just back from the class, we made: a watermelon and feta cheese salad, Mexican street corn, BBQ garlic bread, salmon, ribs, and home made ice cream with Carmel chocolate sauce. Good eating.

Dr H wrote:Nice work on the various scenery pieces, Theo.

Thanks Dr. H, it's working out well I think.

Still no power and no expectation of when it'll be back on. 13,000+ people here in St. Louis out of power and another 11,000 people across the river out right now as well. Our local zip code has only 48 people out of power, so we are low on the priority list. That's the problem of older well established areas, few big trees because of the smaller lots, but when one goes down it messes everything up.

Getting ready to go hit the pool and then Father's Day diner out since.....no power.

Well we weren't bothered as the house was cool until about 11:30am, Lily and I had our cooking class at 12:30 so we went early. My wife my oldest daughter and my son all went over to grandmas house which we normally do on sundays, but they are working on getting her packed to move into an assisted living facility. Coming up on six months after poppy died and she is realizing she needs more company than just us showing up every day for an hour or two. It's been a big strain on all of us, but we're still willing to do whatever we need to. So they stayed there until we were done at cooking class 3:40, and then we all got home. The house was still slightly cooler than outside so we hung out for a little bit and got what chores we could do done. Around 6:30 we went for my Father's Day diner and about 8:00 the power came back on. We had kept the fridge closed and our thermometer said everything stayed below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, so luckily our biweekly grocery trip to the store the morning before did not go bad.

Happy Father's Day back at you Dave, did you get anything from Bean?

Well I took some time this morning to hit the trees again with two more washes and then flocked the ground some.

I think jobs a good'un on these, just wondering if I should hit them with a matte sealer? Any suggestions on that would be great.
