wait ...what.....a new edition and now certain models, unit sizes and weapons cant be played as you customized, painted and planned for?

OH wait this has happened for over 25+ years of the hobby.

Who is crying over this spilled milk? I thought we got done with that chapter and verse back around the turn of the century.....is it still going on?

In the case of the Inquisition, it has more to do with it and its subfactions losing more and more tools and flavour with each successive rewrite (I seriously did not think they could get any more bland than their entries in the Imperial Agents codex, but GW really pulled out all the stops here). Moreover, regarding the tools that the Inquisition lost, they happen to be ones featured prominently in plenty of artwork and background material, even current stuff. It'd be like Space Marines not being allowed to take... well... power armour. Sure, factions lose stuff in rewrites all the time, but it'd be really stupid to take power armour away from space marines.

Wait I'm confused what in production model did GW make invalidated from the Inquisition range when 8th was released?

There is one REALLY old inquisitor that has a sword, that if it is a power sword, he can't have with the combi rifle he is also holding in 8th. That's it. One really old model with a ridiculously small flaw. Unforgivable oversight, I know.

No one has said it's unforgivable.

Just that it's disappointing.

It would not have been hard for them to make sure people's miniatures were still playable. No matter how long ago they bought them, or indeed if they painstakingly converted one based on sixth month old rules.

That would have been nice, you know.

No one is saying 8th is garbage, or that GW headquarters should be burned to the ground. Just that it'd be nice if they'd not screwed the Inquisition, one of the most customisable armies in the game, with very cool fluffy rules, that now just appear to be a bunch of dudes that can use any transport they like.

It's hard for me to care about an inquisitor model not having the right equipment when Catachans now count as having better armor than Orks that used to be 'ard boyz.

Yes, GW still can't get it right. I find it strange that people seem to be so willing to forgive them for making the exact same mistake over and over again though.

Imperial Guard have also lost access to carapace armour, which is more than a little annoying. At least squad sergeants finally have access to a ranged weapon again, even if it is just a boltgun and its an option that will probably disappear for no good reason when they get their codex.

I'm surprised people are concerned about WYSIWYG at all. I've been playing 20 years an have never met anyone who bothered with it.

If I had to buy a model or magnetize the options for all tyranids I would actually kill myself. Even just the thought of doing it for my 6 carnifexes is making me want to self harm, let alone the 16 warriors and 4 hive tyrants I have.

Every army that I have ever made is 100% WYSIWYG, that incudes Necromunda gangs and Mordhem warbands.
