Ad Mech - I love the looks of Ruststalkers, so I'm always down for setting 100 pts aside for a single unit of these guys just to see them on the table.
Imperial knights - Atropos. I love my Atropos. I love his look, weapons, rules, paintjob, etc. If I'm using a single knight it's going to by my Atropos. If I'm running all knights, he's going to be in the list.
Space Wolves - Lukas. He amuses me and that amusement is definitely worth putting him on the field for.
Tau - Tau for me is just Kroot and Vespids that happen to have some odd fish yelling orders at them.

I tried to get my skyray's, but they are so garbage in 8th. Probably could be a worst unit in 8th edition contender. May as well be a fixed 3-4 wound platform then that's it it's basically hundreds and hundreds of points for a two gun drones or even more over priced for two smart missile systems.
What utter crap. I used to always take them in 7th and they worked wonders. Now however they collect dust. :( GW needs to give them completely new mechanics. I would just say they have a "seeker missile battery" similar to FW that just lets them fire missiles all game for one. Can only fire d6 per turn though.

Plague Marines. In 7th they were the best Troop choice for CSM, now... not so much. I bring them anyway.

Crisis Suits. I started playing in fifth edition and every single list I have ever played for Tau has included at least one unit of Crisis Suits.
In sixth/seventh I ran Farsight Enclaves, and will likely do so again when the codex comes out, as I'm sure that will be one of the options. I love the design, the flexibility, and mobility, even if that's been lessened considerably this edition.

Tempestus Scions and Ogryns/Bullgryns for my IG. People used to laugh and say 'oh they're cool'. Now I get called a power gamer for it.
my other factions I generally don't have huge auto-includes. I'm partial to my BA captain, but he's sometimes dropped for something more points efficient in smaller games.

My converted battlewagon. Used to have an old chapter approved IG armoured column, and when I decided to go all in for orks around 6th edition, my IG stuff got converted into all kinds of ork gubbinz. The wagon is basically 2 Leman Russes and a Chimera mashed together with a killkannon on the hull and a kannon on a raised platform. It's not nearly as effective with the loss of templates, but I love it too much to put it aside.

but the model that i almost always bring is a Hive Tyrant because it is fluff wise a must have IMO and it is my favorite unit. If FW stuff is allowed i bring my Malanthrope because it is sooo good in 8th.

Genestealers for me. I've always loved them and considered them to be the archetypal Tyranid, and I honestly can't remember a game where I haven't included at least one unit - whether back in 3rd edition when I started collecting Tyranids, my 7th edition games or nowadays in 8th edition.

To be fair, I don't think Kharn ever sucked. He may not have been an auto-include like the 3.5 edition Obliterator but I remember him consistently pulling his weight and making his points regardless of edition. It's just that Khornate units in general have sucked compared to others so there wasn't much reason to take him since he stuck out like a sore thumb.
