So I've forgotten to upload the photos from several games lately, but I'll start to get to them in the next few days. This was a practice game for LVO with another member of my Horus Heresy club, he was using Salamanders. 2500 a side, with a special mission (from the LVO 30k Mission Pack) where I as the traitors need to attempt to destroy 3 pylon objective in the center of the board, while he as the loyalist needs to keep me from doing that! Any scoring unit or unit with the battlesmith rule that ends its turn in base contact with a pylon may reduce or increase its structure points by 1. Pylons start with 3 and can't be increased beyond 3. It was a very tough mission considering how relatively weak my scoring units are in my Militia army, and I did get resoundingly thrashed by the salamanders! (shakes fist!) Still was a fun game and lessons were learned on both sides!

I got the strategic warlord trait where I can infiltrate 3 of my infantry units, I was sneaky and tried to position my lascannons in a nice spot for side armor shots on his Spartan!!!

My lascannons were able to immobilize the Spartan, but the medusas were not enough to significantly damage the unit!

Are you still playing your militia? I myself have started an army of IM with the same Provenances as yours and would love to see more of yours.
Are you happy with the weapons of your Sentinels? In 30k i often see armoured ceramite, so multi meltas don't seem to be the best choice.

Thank you very much! I've been playing close attention to the work of Mortian and plan on adding some of their unique pieces to my army as well to go with the Macharius tanks

I am still playing my militia as luck would have it although my hobby time has dramatically decreased somewhat recently. I am getting the old gears turning though and soon will have some battle reports to throw up due to playtesting some scenarios for a Narrative event I'm throwing at the SoCal Open.

I think that the provenances you and I have chosen are great for representing a professional regiment raised not only to protect a world but actively fight in the Great Crusade or in the Horus Heresy. Alchem-Jackers especially are necessary if you have any artillery-type units to keep them from getting automatically destroyed if your militia fail a Ld check!

As far as the Sentinels, I did magnatize them specifically to avoid being pinned down to just multi meltas, but so far it has been ok. They work great for what I try to use them for mainly outflanking and trying to get some shots at artillery tanks which often don't have great Side or Rear armor even if they do have Ceramite, and in that case I'd still value the AP1 of the melta being able to get and explodes result more reliably. And its still decent against thing like dreads which don't get ceramite, or many of the non-marine vehicles out there.

Good job on those sentinels. I like the dynamic running pose. And the weapons look very natural on the bottom of the hull instead of the side. Cool idea and well done.

So I have been considering what the next expansion for this force should be, and with the new Ruinstorm rules I am thinking of starting a small Daemons force as "allies" for the unwitting Militia. I'd like to go for an undivided feel, and these new Warcry Creatures seem to fit the role of lesser daemons and daemonic beasts rather well!



Furies as lesser daemons with Wings (jump infantry) and Crushing Claws (rending)



Raptorex as beasts with crushing claws and sundering fangs (can replace all attacked with one at 2x strength and sunder)

I'm a bit hung up on what to do for a daemon lord, I'd like to make a conversion using either Morathi or Archaons dragon from AoS. What are the thoughts of the Hive Mind?

Also some hobby progress to report, finally getting around to completing my Laser Rapiers and Breacher squad!

I agree those new models look better than most of the current daemon range, which is mostly underwhelming.
