Hey in other news, I stripped, cleaned up, re-assembled, and primed my new mounted squires. I also molded a couple of new copies of the longer shields so everyone has the same as those.

I also replaced the banner pole the standard bearer had with the extra Knight banner I had, but snipping off the hand and gluing it to the wrist AND boot of the bearer just like the other one was. Looks like its going to hold very nicely. I had debated clipping then drilling out the old pole from the hand of the bearer, and removing the Knight's hand from the new one, and have the new one slip into his hand, but I really didn't want to mess with the new pole. The new hand is a little too big as its a gloved hand, maybe over time I can sand it down a little bit.

I haven't assembled anything else though. I really wanted the mounted squires to work tho relieved it has. I tend to jump from project to project. I would like to finish assembling my starter armies. Especially my Empire one.

Very well, its a posh banner for your peasant cavalry.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I should have drilled the old one out of his hand and just inserted the new one into it.

I would have kept the original banner. however lets look forward

If you dont like the banner you now have, with mailed gauntlet hand and a better material you can find a cheaper banner to use.

There are many around. if you severed at the wrist you could put the original banner back, if its not good enough for you then get a spare headpiece to make it more like a normal GW banner.

Check what bits you have from other kits. You could use an elven banner, or a goblin one, both with trimmed of iconography.

I will admit the original standard doesn't fit the modern aethetic for Warhammer banners. it more historical than fantasy.
