But as they are all going to have a chainsword and a chain axe and no guns I think the fact that they are berserkers will be fairly obvious.

My WYSIWYG issue is Chosen - as there is no Chosen kit I'm just using some normal CSMs. How do you know they are Chosen?

They have cloaks. Oh yes, classy move.

Yeah, you're right with the axe/sword combo - pretty obvious they're Berzerkers.

You're right about Chosen being a tricky one to model - I recall a long time ago the studio pointed at some Chaos Space Marines identical to the rest of the Black Legion studio army except for some gold trim (instead of silver) and they said "the gold trim denotes these troops as Chosen". So by that logic, as long as you put a few extra details on your models (cloaks is an excellent way to do this) you just call them Chosen. If in doubt, when deploying the unit, specify "this is the Chosen" unit. Nobody can get mad, and it's not like Chosen are a top tier unit anyway that people would seek to hide them in their army and surprise people with them.

I got on with converting the Chosen last night. They all have plasma pistol and chainsword, and I think the plasma pistol marks them out as elites.
I replaced nearly all the heads and chose helmets without horns - with my warband colour scheme of bone coloured helmets this makes them look like skull masks. Good for chosen, I reckon.
I'll add various extra spikes and bits before painting.

I thought you wanted your chosen to be your shooty support unit? They'd be better off with combi weapons surely?

They are still members of a Khorne warband. Tactical just means not running straight at the enemy for the whole battle.

I will add some heavy support at some stage.

I think there are plenty following this thread who are Khorne devotees in some shape or form - so you might have some good ideas about this.

I've attached the Wrath colour scheme. Bone/white helmets, then a mix of black/red armour.

I'm trying to come up with a scheme using these colours to differentiate between the different units.
For example, Chosen will probably be more black than red, and I think the berserkers the opposite, more red armour than black (but a dark, muddy/bloody red, not the BA red that GW use for berserkers/WE).

I like the bone coloured helmets for everyone, but does anyone have any other ideas/suggestions?

I think that's a boss looking colour scheme. One idea could be to use bronze/brass trim for berzerkers and gold trim for Chosen to make them look more ornate? Still keeps a very strong overall aesthetic, but helps to pick them out slightly?

Yeah, something like that is what I was thinking.
Might go darker red all over for terminators, perhaps.

I basically scrolled through all the warbands until I found one that wasn't pure red. Although, when I collected before I painted up a squad of Veterans as Black Legion but with bone coloured helmets, and that looked great.

I don't think I like bone for weapons though. I will experiment.
