Looking sharp! I vote same way. Let's see some soulless uniformity.

I have a collection of that-era Chaos decals, do you need any?

These look Megadave! Some real classic baddies, with rather neat hazard stripes. They always struck me as the work of Chaos, which you’ve doubly confirmed.

I’d never seen the Chaos squat egg before, he looks really cool. A nice bit of conversion work with the weapon tentacles too.

Keep the goblin green bases coming!

These are absolutely glorious. Loving all of it - bases, stripes, clunky old minis that for some reason don't annoy me half as much as clunky new minis. Bring on the next wave!

Managed to get the other rhino completed, and I even remembered to make the hazards go the same way.

Thanks for all the kind words!

Nice group shot, MegaDave - though I cannae help but feel you're a little heavy on characters and vehicles, and a little light on troops

How's your Predator bitz support? I'm pretty sure I've got some 2nd/3rd ed Chaos vehicle stuff somewhere, if you're looking.

Oh, and we've got a pile of Chaos Terminators about to go on the (ch/sh)opping block.

Managed to get the other dreadnought finished, he and his brother are ready to go on an insane rampage!

Another army shot...

Fear not Dysartes! You are absolutely correct, I have been avoiding the little dudes, lol. But no more! Batch painting of 35 more androids begins with the appropriate tools for the job!

Thanks, I will keep it in mind! I think I will be over painting things leadbelcher for a while, but I might end up doing another legion later on...

Yup. That's going to increase the troop count a bit. Love the latest Dread.

That Dread looks brutal.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

So, how depleted was the bottle by the end of the mammoth batch? Did the Hazard stripes get easier or just wonky!?!?

Hah, well it didn't go too far down, still had to paint inside the lines. Usually 2 bourbons is about my limit while painting.

This is where they are now. They've been dry brushed, shaded, and the bases have been painted, shaded and dry brushed. It gets real depressing painting the bases for the 3rd time in a row!

Painting those bases goblin green, shading them goblin green and dry brushing with goblin green is a real buzzkill.

Jokes; your bases are the vintage bomb!

Yes, but is he using ACTUAL sawdust, like we did back then?

So this picture looks a lot like the last two, but it's different, I swear! Just got through painting all of the guns black, that was probably the longest stage to do. Next up are some easy details...

And I didn't use sawdust btw, that was even before my time! I did, however, refrain from using Citadel Finesand and stuck with good 'ol cheapo play sand.

Thanks,

MegaDave

NO SAWDUST??!?

Also, I love how these evolved from "Chaos Androids" to "Necrons".

The 40 chaos androids are finished, woohoo! What a slog, they seemed to never end.

Here we have the chaos squat Warpsmith leading his creations to battle.

I probably need to go back and make a unit leader for them at some point, probably just change the paint on an android head or something. Anyone got any good ideas?

Thanks,

MegaDave

Incredibly cool. Maybe make the leader a gold or bronze color like the old Cylons.

Great work slogging through the mass of androids! I second the use of Gold/Bronze a la Cylons, plus it works with the secondary metallics on the rest of your iron warriors!

See, this is why I need you guys! The obvious answer was staring me in the face and I didn't see it, typical Dave.

Life caught up to me for a month so it's been slow going, but I managed to get another squad finished!

I added a little bit of blood for the blood god onto the banner after I took the picture, needed some bleeding eyes.

So after this, I have 10 terminators, 5 more marines, and 2 tanks to go.

Thanks,

MegaDave
