I know an expansion is never going to get the backing of the original game, but the backer and cash total from the core game to this expansion really dropped faster than I was expecting. If the next one also has a 50%+ drop in both it could easily be the last one.

Depends what's in the next expansion. Plus we have to remember there's a bit of a downer globally right now on actually playing games which might well be translating into great sales for games people know they can get locally (eg Warhammer) but not as great for "new" games on the market.

Heck I think its why Dystopian Wars has been continually delayed this year even though China is now shipping. I figure they want to have conventions running and people gaming and able to play to help promote it.

Right now you can buy and build and paint, but play is very restricted in some countries.

Even I skipped this kickstarter because while I just got the job of my dreams, there's been so much uncertainty from the pandemic, including not knowing when we'll be able to safely gather to play again.

My Marchers will have to walk to their objectives.

Whelp, I guess one comparison with Infinity is now valid. Angel Giraldez just announced he's painting for Privateer Press.

Today is a good day to announce that I will paint again for one of the most influential companies in the sector, PRIVATEER PRESS!
I worked for them as a freelance painter from 2010 to 2013, and the experience was first-class.
This company appreciated me and recognized my work; thus, it is an honor to paint for them some miniatures again. That's why I keep a great memory, fondness, and the miniatures they have are undoubtedly stunning.

Wonder how long or the type of contract as while Angel makes occasional announcements about companies he's painting for it's usually for a very specific product/release (like a KSer) and not just a general "I'm painting for them now". not thinking he's exclusive in any way but it's a pretty interesting announcement.

That way,then left

Sounds like a positive change, there have been a few releases from PP where the paintstyle and/or photography didn't do the model justice.

On the KS, I'm waiting for retail although I backed the first one. Getting things a couple weeks before retail isn't worth having to pay for shipping for me.

The initial Kickstarter dropped back when the Pandemic was only really beginning to hit in the West and the optimism this would, probably, be over by the end of Summer. I think a lot of people were probably expecting for their stuff to ship and to be building/painting and then playing the game in time for Kickstarter 2.

That didn't happen, so when there's no Kickstarter Exclusives or meaty discounts and no end to the pandemic/getting to play physical games as often, there's not nearly as much onus to back it. Hell, that's why I didn't even though I'm still looking forward to playing it in-person - I'd just rather wait for retail at this point than sit on models I won't use for probably at least half a year.

Pledge Manager is now open, which also means late-backers (ergo didn't back during Kickstarter) can also join in now. New people follow the link below; backers should have an email in your KS registered email account (check spam folder)
