Exciting News for The Barons' War!
Paul and I understand that the wait for the promised Outremer campaign supplement has been longer than anticipated. We apologise for the delay and appreciate your patience. The good news is, we haven't been idle!
Exciting New Plastic Miniatures:
Since early 2023, we've collaborated with Wargames Atlantic to create a fantastic range of plastic miniatures for The Barons' War game. We're thrilled to unveil the first of five planned box sets: The Foot Knights!
This versatile set launches at the end of April 2024 and is available for pre-order now from @Wargames Atlantic and @Footsore Miniatures & Games. The plastics have been scaled to fit in seamlessly with the current The Barons' War range, and each plastic release will be interchangeable, providing endless options.
Stay tuned for announcements on the upcoming releases in this exciting new plastic range!
Outremer Campaign Update:
We haven't forgotten about Outremer! Paul is diligently working on a substantial release planned for later in 2024. We'll share more details soon.
We appreciate your continued support and enthusiasm for The Barons' War. We're incredibly excited about this collaboration and the fantastic new options it brings to the game. Stay tuned for further updates, and prepare to bolster your armies with these stunning new plastic miniatures!

Those are really great, but forgive me for not being versed in historical armoring... did knights really go around in full chainmail bodysuits including mittens and footies for a time?

Almost every piece of art from this period shows them with maille chausses with foot protection and hauberks with incorporated mittens. Certainly some knights would have had older/hand-me-down equipment, but it was pretty universal from some time in the mid/late 1100s up until plate gauntlets completely took over.

Even the Bayeux Tapestry from 1096 has full or almost full maille:

As someone with a huge weak spot for exactly that period, I will be getting these for sure. And I'm hoping to have some more options for sergeants and the like as well. Can never have too many of those!
