I'm definitely willing to drop a fortune on the current FW stuff but I'll be kicking myself in the *** 6 months from now to find that GW is going to release a full plastic line.
Eh, maybe I'll just finish my "Border World Rangers" project and see what happens. They sure as hell werent cheap either.
It would seem if GW was NOT going to do more DKK plastics, and wanted to protect FW they'd say something to the effect of "DKK exclusively at Forgeworld!" if not outright say "there will never be a DKK plastic line".
The fact they haven't... I'd wait a few more months.
You think GW would actually clarify that, or did you forget to put in a \sarcasm tag?
But if the price doesn't kill you, the FWDKOK models are nice, the detail is a lot sharper than the plastics GW just released, but at the same time they're quite similarly scaled so won't look out of place if you do build a FWDKOK army then add to it later with GWDKOK.

Possibly, but remember when everyone was saying the Traitor Guard models from BSF were indicative of an imminent Traitor Guard line? Well it's been nearly two years with not a peep of any more of those models and no codex. It seems to me that some of the decisions GW makes are often misinterpreted by the community. Just like with the Traitor Guard, I remember when people were singing from the rafters about Rogue Traders getting a codex. That was well over three years ago now, with nothing having been released.
One thing to consider is "how many factions can the game and GW reasonably support?" I would say we're already a little past capacity to be honest.
That's really not the thing to consider at all. What matters is how the models fit into 40k.
The Rogue Trader models for Kill Team were just that, a very limited, easy build crew made for that specific game. You can't make an army out of multiples of that sprue if you release it separately. If you want to make a Rogue Trader army out of that, you have to create an entire Rogue trader army from scratch minus the characters and that one, probably named, unit.
The traitor Guard from Black Stone Fortress is in no better condition, but is additionally on the same sprue as a number of models unrelated to Traitor Guard. Here, too, GW would have to create the entire Traitor Guard army from scratch, without even being able to utilize the sprue they already have.
The realistic takeaway from these is that GW has done basic design work for the factions and has some CAD assets. Yeah, people are definitely going to hope that a full army comes from both, but in terms of 40kGW has very little work done by having a few models like that in side games.
For Death Korps to be in line with Catachans and Cadians (which isn't necessarily what's going to happen, but the bare minimum required to make them work), you need three kits. Infantry, Command, Heavy Weapons. The rest of the army already exists. And unlike those other two factions, the Kill Team Death Korps sprues actually cover one of these three things.
It's not a comparable situation even if you dismiss the rumors we have of an 40k release for Death Korps.
You think GW would actually clarify that, or did you forget to put in a \sarcasm tag?
I should have added, "If GW was a normal company".
I mean no one makes me guess if this movie will be on streaming later or if it will be on DVD, they announce these things early.
If GW is moving most of the Kreig to plastic they ought to say something like "last chance to get the original Kreig models". If they are not they ought to say something like "Krieg exclusively from FW resin!" Instead we read tea leaves, and sometimes read them wrong.
Where is my Traitor Guard army we all predicted a few years back?
GW has gotten miles better since its days of "the internet is a fad" but sometimes it is still frustrating.
