Same here!

I just remember that this game was "out" (or so I though), couldn't find the book anywhere, searched them out on the official site, saw that it was a Q4 2023 release, said "WTF?" and then came here to search for info...

So, yeah, roll on Q4 2023!

Judging by posts on various other sites, it feels like the company is taking advantage (no shade implied) of direct to customer presales for added profit which also comes with the added bonus of crowdsourced editing/proofreading to boot in the meantime. I can't fault them for doing that as a business though as a (potential) customer I'd prefer the more traditional release schedule.

Can't fault them for for getting the proofreading/editing done before physical release (especially as the first set of preorder preorders had some shocking ommissions/mistakes)

Better than the first edition Dark Heresy collectors edition: we paid £70, got the book a month before general release, it came with a misprinted map and needed a ton of errata (and they didn't even consider making a digital version for a year or more afterwards IIRC). This model is much better.

Yes and no. Yes, it's better but it's still not good from a traditional consumer perspective. Games shouldn't be primarily proofread by customers and should instead get multiple passes prior to even a PDF release unless it's a true beta test. It's just the tabletop gaming equivalent of "we'll just patch it later"/fix it in post mentality.

The Dark Imperium

I assume this is more story driven rpg or "low-roll"? I'm familiar with Chaosium BRP d100 so I assume this could be play-based progression or xp gain?
