Looking great! it looks nice that you picked brown rims for your bases over black. It actually works well with Catachans.

Thanks! I'm not too fond of black base rims. I never really like how it frames my models, makes them look like they exist on little floating Xen islands in some black void or something.

Great job on the Catachan, I like your shotgun Troopers. The Chimera has come out really well.

Much appreciated! The shotgunners will hopefully get some paint soon, I'm planning on revamping their (and by extension a lot of my troopers') bases with more foliage and rocks, some skulls.

Nice work on the chimeria, it looks really good. The camo paint is very nice. And I like your idea for the scout shotguns, I might borrow that (if I remember!).

I'm enjoying watching the Catachan army come together!

Forgot to post this, but last week I crammed to finish the mini of the month-a "battleclade servitor" (that name's a little silly, how about just "battle servitor?") so here he is:

COMM-LINK OPEN. INPUT DIRECTIVE!

I have a Tech-Priest in my backlog (intended for this army) and figured he'd be a neat little companion for him when he eventually gets some paint.
I experimented with using the plants from the HWT box on a base, and I like the look. I might buy the kit again and get someone to recast the plants so my guys can get some true jungle bases. Feels a little wrong using them on what is essentially an NPC companion for the army.

The only real alterations to the sculpt are the skitarii head (cut off an old gakky Techno-archaeologist kitbash I made years ago) as I was not really a fan of the basic head that came on the sprue. There wasn't enough of a contact point to safely glue in in place, so some blue-tac and superglue on both sides worked like a charm. I have no intention to ever use this chap on the tabletop, but he was a nice refresher from painting the same old greens and browns over and over. I based his colour scheme on the old metal Heavy Bolter servitor.

Thanks! I finally added the flamer-specialist to the team and redid the sergeant with some better arms. Hopefully, you'll be seeing them painted soon.

Glad to hear! I intend to work a lot more on these boys from now on, and that's not an empty promise, I swear.
Next up: Finally finishing that Commissar from a while ago.
