... for a moment I thought that Bel'tayn and Hunter were with Kais, and then I thought it was just Hunter and some Ta with me on the Silver Shark...

You and the Tau are aproaching the Space Hulk while Syrath, Luidias, Hunter and Bel'tyan are scouting out the ship for you.

"Do we have tau allies? And lets get that dropship"

No its the one where your being attacked by the Chaos marines.

The Snipers begin to move back but soon are fired on by Chaos space marines who move forward and press their attack forcing the Snipers back into cover.

Ludias grumbles under his breath as Syrath unsheaths his claws
"Ill deal with this"

The marines continue and begin throwing frag grenades forcing the group to split and attempt to fire from there. The squads leader appears bearing heavily customised armour and weaponry and points towards Luidias;

"Kill him now."

Ludias scoffs
"I think not"
He raises his pistol and fires a shot that decapitates the first marine to get to close,
"Try me"

Two Chaos marines raise Cross bow like weapons and fire a single arrow each, both arrow slam into the wall behind Luidias and violently explode sending him flying.

Ludias feels the explosion ripple against his suit but isnt bothered, hes dealt with worse. He twists in midair as he flys towards the marines drawing his sword. His tumbling flight is arrested by a thick plasteel covered chest and his sword sinks into the marines neck, the power matrix around the blade ripping through the power armour.

His momentum pushes the now limp Marine to the ground and he stands yanking the blade out and pivoting on his heel. The weapon slipping through the second marines neck in a spray of acidic astartes ichor.

He leaps backwards flipping in midair and as he hits the ground his hand comes up his pistol in his grip. He squeezes the trigger three times each shot hitting the Champion marine in the throat.

The Champion marine ignores the attack and revels that the shot was blocked before raising his Power-Mace and slamming it into the ground near Luidias and grabs the sniper by the neck before drawing a combat knife and growling;

"The Employers would give me so much if I were to hand you in to them, however I wonder what others would pay me for you?"

"Keep thinking tough guy. You should never have let me get this close"
Ludias grins into his mask as his powersword still held in his right hand slips under the marines arm impaling both hearts and severing his spine

The marine drops Luidias and stumbles back before falling while the remaining Chaos marines retreat in fear of the Snipers next moves, the blast doors close giving the Snipers peace for mere seconds as a distinctive roar fills the room. Several doors begin to shake as children close in on the Snipers position.

"Im not going to pretend that this isnt an issue, Syrath do we have an exit?"

(Now would be a good time for the tau to arrive? Pleeeeeeasee)

"We can warp away but what of the Tau and the bomb? If it goes off when they arrive were screwed. We need to find it and change the timer and alert the Tau but these children will be a problem, grab my hand and we'll warp to a hanger."

The daemon and Snipers warp to a derelict hanger just as the children break through, the hanger is filled with rusty shuttles and Valkryie's that have seem better days.

Ludias looks over one of the less damaged ships. A thunderbolt with an extra seat.
(changing the color for easier reading)"This will do nicely, Bel' Syrath you go sort the bomb. Hunter, I need your help here."

He goes to the ship and runs a long metal rod along one of the panels which pops of. He catches it and tosses it to Hunter.
"We need to make this fit for travel in 30 minutes, do you think you can help with that?"

Hunter nods and revels his techno arm;


"My handy work, I am very pleased with it myself and is suited to many different functions including repair. We probaly need to modify the engine exaust and the coolant systems."

"Indeed additionally you will have to edit the rear gunners seat to fit your dimensions. Perhaps without armour? That may make things faster, there are already several storage positions in the craft. Lets get to work"

Over the next thirty minutes the two work on the Thunderbolt until it is viable for space travel. Ludias finishes of the landing gear just as Bel' and Syrath come back through the door. Bel' looks over the vessel and cottons on immediatly.

"I take it I'm riding shotgun?"
"Got it in one old friend"
Ludias turns to Syrath,
"Warp to the Shas'o's position we will use this fighter to assault the bridge and provide cover. We will be operational in 15 minutes. and at the bridge in 25, I suggest you start moving"

After the Daemon dissapears Ludias turns to Beltayn.
"Alright lets get the armour on this thing finished. Hunter youll be using the rear mounted quads to shake of any pursuit, Ill handle piloting while Bel' deals with primary weapons. As soon as we get out there I expect that they will send interceptors, they are weak on the wing joints, for some reaon the chaos possession of the fighters isnt as strong there. Hellblades are also weaker when banking left and will present a broadside for a longer period. All set?"

The trio work to armour and arm the thunderbolt and as they get into their harnesses with Hunters armour strapped into one of the holding boxes in the cabin Ludias begins to check feul, seeing it well stocked he ignites the engines. The two otehr members of the Thunderbolts crew hear his voice over the vox:

Ludias closes the cockpit visor and flicks the ignition to full accelerated burn. The Thunderbolt jinks through the bubble shielding on the hangar doors and accelerates quickly into the blackness, sure enough half a dozen blips target their position and begin to home in

Ludias banks left hard looping over the hull of the super carrier, jinking between arcs of quad fire from the over-zealous but innaccurate hellblade pilots. As he performs his manouvre Hunter unleashes bursts of quad into the wing joints of the hellblades, winging two and shredding a third

Ludias pulls the Thunderbolt in a tight arc and Bel' locks two lascannon bursts onto the offending hellblades which dissolve into iridescant explosions, Hunter finishes of the last one as they zip past. Redeemed being the old term for atmospheric encounters when a pilot bit the ground. In this case it would have been the hellblade impacting on the hull of the supercarrier.

One final loop brings them in VFR of the bridge outlook.

(We have new contacts, unknown fighter type. Bearing Alpha Legion iconography and colors, preparing to engage)

Several strangely designed Alpha Legion fighters appear, they are graceful in design and fly with precision but soon turn their attention to the Thunder Bolt zooming towards the fighter and unleashing volleys of purple plasma fire. They attack again only missing by inches but Hunter scores a direct hit sending one of the fighters out of control, it explodes as it slams into the Hulks side;

(They are graceful but lack shields, better that we make precise shots and don't waste ammo.)

Ludias moves through a series of turns and jinks that the pack of new fighters has trouble keepng up with, his mask feeding the information to his suit the moment his mind thinks of it, then the suit reacts dragiing his hand with the control stick in the required motion path and his other hand across the control dias faster than his body can react.

Soon they are in VFR of the other fighters Ludias having pulled a tight loop and ended up behind him, giving Bel' time to lock on with the quads.

Masses of Chaos fighters appear from all sides of the Tau and Dark Eldar fleet, each ship a foul daemonic craft seething with dark energies and bristling with strange and exotic weaponry. Several Chaos frigates and Assault Carriers also arrive from behind bearing the symbol of the Iron Warriors, they begin to move towards the small fleet of Tau and Eldar ships and open fire. What would of been utter annihilation is blocked by a arcane shield raised by the Farseer and Syrath while masses of Dark Eldar and Tau fighters engage the massed Chaos fleets, hundreds of fighter squadrons battling each other with incredible speed and fire power but lack any grace. While far outnumbered and gunned the Tau and Dark Eldar fight with true skill compared to the weak willed Chaos pilots and commanders.

Vindicare turbo penetrators. Oni engage venumum toxins are allowed engage. She jumps forward and fires her animus while readying her memory blades. Informaticus request report from the callidus where is she and does she have info?

(Cannot disengage....they are......blocking.....comms, there are too.....many for......me to..........fight.......assistance is needed....Help me)

The message cuts out as the Elitest troopers move forward and open fire again amd force the assassins back into cover.

Beltayn had had some experience with airborne and spaceborne combat before he had become a ranger but he was quietly impressed with Ludias' work, he had not know the man could pilot a craft so agilely, especially one so ill crafted as a Mon Keigh fighter. Beltayn continued to pelt the chaos fighters with accurate bursts of fire but he looked at the display, soon they would be out of ammo and that was going to be a problem.

"There are too many, we cannot take them all Storm." Beltayn informed him. "We will have to find another craft soon, we are running out of weapons to fight with and when that happens we will be sitting ducks." Beltayn stated as he blasted another Alpha legion fighter from the air as it tried to jink out of the way.

"There are simply too many targets." Beltayn said frustratedly.

"When has that ever been a bad thing?" Ludias asked. "Leave that to me, just make sure we get where we are going in one piece"

"And where are we going?" Hunter asked, stitching another two trailing razors with fire from his rear quads.

"You'll see." Ludias said simply as he took the bird into a barrel roll.

Ludias activates a docking clamp and primes it as they jink over the hull of a tau cruiser Ludias diverted the ammo feeds to Hunters quads to give the astartes extra security as he made a tight bank between a pair of raised turrets on the hull of the cruiser.

Three of the trailing ships were shredded by the ion cannon fire and Ludias grins as he hears a final two conformations from Hunter. His hand smooths the control column and the craft flips in an exageratted roll and he flicks the engines to full reverse burn bringing them to an abrupt halt inside the cruisers hangar.
Ludias kills the engines and raises the visor as the three snipers get out.

"Head for a barracuda. Hunter take a gunners position"

The sniper throws hunter the box that holds his armour as the trio strap themselves into a barracuda. Hunter taking the roomier gunners position as Bel' takes the aft burst cannon mounts. Ludias brings the pilot visor down over the trio as he begins flicking a series of command switches. He voices through the vox:
{This is Delta1.7.9 requisitioning the barracuda serial number... 185773, under the command of Shas'o Kais. Please keep the thunderbolt in your custody until I return. Clear the departure ramp activating full burn in 5 over and out}

The tau scramble out of the way as he depresses the burn command and the plasma engines pump the Barracuda out of the hangar. Ludias checks his radar and sets the feed into his mask and begins steering them back towards the supercarrier.
{This is D179 closed frequency communication to commander Kais. We are back in the fray and approaching your position trajectory.... 157 degrees. Tail is hot and smoking requesting your position over}

Ludias is about to reply when a quad of razors flit around behind them anouther quad in the back ground. Ludias feels the ripples from twin linked heavy bolters as they rip past the barracuda's view ports.
{Sorry commander change of plans, there are to many CF's out here for us to ignore, were gonna help the fleet out. over}

Ludias lets the CF's have a few more slit seconds on his tail before flippign the barracuda over and going into a reverse arial. The slim areodynamic fighter flipping around beneath the fighters in slow motions giving Hunter time to rake thier undersides with ioncannon shots tearing the quad apart.

Ludias brings the ship into a barrel roll evening out and letting the fighters bank to the left, he was ready for them and had lined the barracuda up. Hunter took 3 close bursts to splash the wing of fighters.

Several Chaos fighters come head on against the Barracuda, scoring a single hit but failing to case damage and in return are obliterated by plasma fire but more and more fighters begin to swamp the Tau and Dark Eldar forces.
