Imperial Recruit in Training

Hey guys, I am playing in a 600pts tournament in a few weeks which will consist of 3 games. I will be playing chaos, space marines and necrons with the latter two forces fielding a flyer each. The only rules are no characters over 200pts and no av above 12.
Without further ado here's my 600pts Craftworld Habras'il list:
HQ: 140pts, Prince Yriel
Troops: 185pts, (10) Dire Avengers w/exarch, power weapon and shimmershield, battle fortune, disarming strike
60pts, (5) Rangers
Fast attack: 120pt, (5) Warp Spiders w/ exarch, TWL Death spinners, fast shot
Heavy Support: 90pts, (1) War Walker w/ EML + flakk, scatterlaser
Total: 595 pts
As a quick run down yriel goes with the avengers aiming to break of at some point to insta kill a unit with the eye of wrath. The rangers pick of small units and the warp spiders hang in reserve to neutralize any artillery or allow a counterattack. The War walker also stays in support to shoot down flyers.
We will be playing capture the relic in all games on a smaller board.
Please do not hold back from commenting on the list above to suggest improvements and to point out the armies weakness' !

I'd suggest dumping Yriel because he's a massive amount of your list to be a "Kill One Unit" guy. Especially to slog on foot where the enemy can shoot him. Which they will. My suggestion would be a Farseer replacement.
A single Serpent at this low a points would almost guarantee both victory and a beating on the way to your car. Consider that.
The Avengers Make beautiful Meat shields with easy access to Inv's. However, Don't do battle Fortune or disarming strike. Neither are going to be worth it,
Spiders are a great way to deal with fliers, especially if you Guide them with a Farseer. I'd suggest more of them though. 7 is an ideal number.
Msl Launcher is way too expensive to do it's job. I'd suggest instead 2x Scatter Laser as it's more effective vs Everything with an av 12 cap.
If you've got the points after all of this, Bikes make effective relic holders for the Eldar due to their ability to fly up and snatch it, and jink their way backwards. A team of 6 is hard to move, but if you can only afford three then run three.

The war walker is completely and utterly useless. That thing wont kill a flier if it had all game to do it, and it wont have all game because its only av 10 with 2 HP

The war walker will be fine, it can outflank and go for some rear armour.

Here's what I take for my 600 point Eldar list:
HQ:
Spirit seer
Troops:
5 Dire Avengers, Wave serpent, kitted out with twinked scatter lasers and holofields
5 Dire Avengers, Wave serpent, kitted out with twinked scatter lasers and holofields
Heavy Support:
Fire Prism
It's pretty cut and paste but gets the job done

At this low of point value, ignore the flier. It'll be annoying and might harass a squad, but it's a point sink and is not super maneuverable, so get under and behind it. Use your mobility to your advantage: Swooping hawks, spiders, and outflanking walkers are a good option.
Consider taking a farseer and adding her to the dire avengers. This allows you to not take the power wep/shimmer shield and instead roll your powers all on divination for that 4+ invul goodness. Take the few extra points and take the war walkers with scatter lasers instead. That way if you get misfortune's rending, your war walkers will laugh all the way across the board, with 8 str 6 rending shots at BS4 each.

Theres a much better load out than what he gave it. He gave it flakk, and with his comment about how 2 of his opponents will bring fliers its pretty obvious that the war walker was supposed to be his anti air. And its a pretty pitiful anti air option.
If theres one walker, give it the usuall load out. lances or scatters. Maybe star cannons at this point level.

With a 600pt small footdar list I made (you would have seen it looking at my comment) there was enough points for an un upgraded war walker.
Also when it comes down to it your relying 100% on lucky rolls to down a flyer with a single war walker regardless of wargear.

The trick is to not use the war walker as anti air. What I meant by better load out wasnt that theirs a better load out for anti air, just that the warwalker could be equiped better. And it can.

Not for 60 points though. And it only does AA if there is nothing better to shoot at.
