I got a few items in the mail from forgeworld the other day and the glue I have does not work on it at all, is there a glue you have found works best or is there some trick to it I have not found?

Any super glue. I use gorilla super glue personally.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Wash the items thoroughly. I let them sit in Simple Green for an hour and then scrub them with a tooth brush to get the model release off.

I use Hobby Lobby's Super Glue. The thick version (yellow bottle). I've never had an issue.

For my Forge World Warhound Titan, I used epoxy and lots of pinning.

I use the loctite super gel control. Biggest thing to remember is to:

1. Read FW's guide to working with resin as it has most tips you will need to work with the stuff. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/R/resintips.pdf

2. Put a few scores on each part you want to glue, making a something resembling a hash tag pattern. This gives the super glue somewhere to go, which will give you a better hold. Most people just glue two flat pieces together. Normally what happens here is that most of the glue you put down gets pushed out of the joint, merely forming a ring around the spot to hold it in. If it's a ball joint take the point of your knife and put a few shallow recess on the ball and socket, but try your best to have them not line up.

Zap-A-Gap, some glue I use for everything.

Scrub it down with a toothbrush and some dish soap if it's not GW plastic (I even do plastic just out of paranoia) and if it's metal take a file to the mating surfaces to rough it up a bit. Don't put too much on at first so it doesn't take forever to dry, and if it looks like a really fragile fiddly connection then put on a thick second coat to encapsulate the joint.

I've followed those guidelines and have had absolutely no trouble with anything, Never used any glue accelerator either, water works just fine if you really want to accelerate the glue (humidity in the air is what makes the glue cure). I've breathed over some particularly annoying joints sometimes to try and get extra humidity on them.

Super glue is the only good option for resin. Plastic glue won't melt the material so it's beyond useless.

Soak in engine degreaser and sand the two surfaces down using a belt sander.

Then pin with brass rod and 2-part epoxy.

Not everyone is that desperate to get their models to go together.

My Warhound certainly didn't need any pinning.

All I used were 6 very large magnets and super glue(weapons and waist are magnetized) The weapons articulate and the waist turns.
