Guard Heavy Weapon Crewman





I have bought a dreadknight but have not yet built it because im having second thoughts about what weapons to give it. I was originally thinking of giving it a personal teleporter, hammer and psycannon but now im wondering if it would be worth swapping out the psycannon for an incinerator in order to take a greatsword rather than the hammer to get the rerolls etc. Im just not sure if its worth losing the power of the psycannon in order to get those cheesy reroll rules. What do you think? Hammer or sword? Or something else? And dont say lose the teleporter because Im using it as a first in kind of thing, to hold up the stronger units until my paladins get in and to make my opponent panic and give them less time to shoot it down.

Don't give it a Hammer, it's worthless as the Stock Dreadknights is already Strength 10. The Heavy Incinerator is amazing, Oersonal Teleporters are great but expensive, and the Greatsword is great, but can be unnecessary.

Here is how I rank the order of upgrade importance.

Heavy Incinerator>Personal Teleporters>Greatsword>Everything Else.

So far the little bit I've ran my GK in 7th I ran 3xHI only. 480pts for three 2+5++ MCs wih a torrent Flamer and 5 S10 Wttqcks on the charge.

40k is 100% Skill +/- 50% Luck

It's expensive and relatively in effective for its cost. Though asking with a Hi and HP isn't a terrible setup.

I so wish they had made the Heavy Psycannons.a S8 Psycannon or Heavy a 6 Psycannon.

A good idea is to not glue the weapons on. Use magnets for sword. Heavy incinerator can be snaped on and of.

I use the knights in 2 versions; etiher cheap with just heavy incinerator or expensive ones which also have teleporter.

I mostly use them in friendly games. Haven't taken them in competitiv lists for years.
