Subject: Dark Eldar (Eldar Jetbikes) Armor Save

This is a rules question more than anything however it is relevant to tactics I suppose.
In the 5th ED DE codex it says Reavers are Bikes (Eldar Jetbikes).
In the latest FAQ it simply says Eldar Jetbikes.
As this has now changed and it's not simply a bike does it mean it should not just get the 2d6 assault move but it should also get the 3+ armor save from the Eldar codex.
There is a rule stating Reaver Jetbike gets a +1 to its armor save to a 5+ but that says nothing about the fact they are now listed as unit type "Eldar Jetbike" in the FAQ.
This one is a bit tenuous I know but I thought I would throw it out there for discussion...! (don't flame me, it's a legitimate question!)...
Thoughts???

I think it depends on your definition of "legitimate question".
Check your rulebook for what an eldar jetbike give you. It is a unit type not a codex entry.

Also consider in the rulebook it says Eldar Jetbikes can move 2d6 in the assault phase and this lists Dark Eldar Jetbikes as Eldar Jetbikes.
Surely then as a Eldar Jetbike they should also get the improved armor save?
Bearing in mind Guardians only have a 5+ the same as Reavers but it's the bike "Eldar Jetbike" giving them the 3+ it stands to reason the Dark Eldar "Eldar Jetbikes" should get it as well?
Discuss!!!

I agree, it's just a bit weird. Then again it's listed as Wargear on the Eldar dex but not in the DE one.
Always wondered the reasoning behind it.
Hopefully with a new Dark Eldar codex it will be put to bed once and for all. Automatically Appended Next Post: Someone else look at the wording in the Eldar codex and tell me it doesn't make sense
I know it's a different codex but still.

No need to put it to bed, its already sleeping. You gain the unit type "Eldar Jetbike" which is listed in the BRB. Is there a 3+ save listed in the BRB under Eldar Jetbikes? The Answer is no, so you dont get it. Pretty simple really.

Don't be rude, extreme. In this case, there's a very reasonable explanation for the confusion. Last edition, the bikes did indeed give a 3+ armor save.
In this edition however, Shingen, they do not. Unless there's something I missed in the new rules, the 3+ armor save is a thing of the past. CWE will keep their 3+ because it's the armor save on their profile, but DE don't get to cabbage on to it. That's the price we pay for being able to move 48" and still attack, I suppose.

No rudeness intended! That post sounded A LOT different in my head. Darn interwebs!
ON TOPIC: I didn't think Reavers gained 3+ armour in 6th edition either, just 3+ cover from Jink + Skilled Rider + Flat Out.

Seems odd to me... Just doesnt feel right, it will probably be corrected in the new codex whatever century GW decide to release it.
