What is the best unit for £50 as I have an apocalypse game coming up. I am either leaning towards a Warwalker Squadron or ten Striking Scorpions. Which one should I get? Or can you think of something better?

Warwalkers are INSANEEEEEEEEEEEE

Walkers. Pound for pound your not going to find another unit with as much fire power as they have for point value.

I disagree, the lynx is worse now that enemies can take inv and cover vs it unless you roll a 6. Walkers or wasps are awesome. Perhaps even shadow specters.

I still think lynx. With the maneuverability of lynxs plus 2 pulsar shots, its pretty easy to find units/tanks not in cover. Then its goodnight with the average 4 hullpoints. And with infantry, its just nasty as like each model takes 2 wounds.

Lynx with sonic lance is the best way in the game to clear a field of low armor vehicles and infantry. Wound on 3+ with reroll to wound (you did take that scatter laser right), AP2 hellstorm template with 18" torrent. Against vehicles its 3d6+1 pen with reroll to pen thanks to TL template rules. Yeah the 2 shot pulsar is nice, but the hellstorm will still clear out a larger area and denies cover saves. Also perfectly accurate.

However, i dont think thats in the price range.

I would go with Swooping Hawks. Most people will ignore them and they have been very useful in my games. I mostly use them vs vehicles, but i think blind works on GCs so you could use it for that purpose too.

Not sure if re rolls to hit makes the hellstorm template twin linked as the wording is different.

Also if in the case re rolls to hit makes the hellstorm template twin linked is it only for the unit you shot the SL at? or any units hit by the template?

SLs don't specify a target of the twinlinked weapons, only specifies which weapons are twin linked. So it'd affect everything hit.

It does clearly state that it targets a unit in the laser lock special ability.
