So this may be a dumb question, but I'm still new to 40k. What does a SM locator beacon look like? What sprue does it come with? Is it easily proxied? Thanks!

It has no official visual representation. You can put on a small device or antenna on the model with the beacon, but there is no requirement to do so.

Locator beacons can be found in the Space Marine terminator boxes. See the picture below. I've never seen anyone bring the actual model to a game as a locator beacon. I use mine as objectives.
