1) Both of the athanes abilities say Houseguard Unit for the target. Do either of them work on the Rifle Team and can they affect another Houseguard Thane who is listed as a Solo,

2) Can I activate thane #1 and use Desperate Pace on a unit, then activate thane #2 and use Desperate Pace on the same unit. Would the unit get +4 movment?

The Eldar, more than any other army, should not only look at the output of each unit individually, but the synergy of multiple units together and their role in the force as a whole. - Fable

1) Yes to the Heavy Rifle team as it's a unit, as long as it says "Houseguard" somewhere on the card, no to the Thane, because he's a solo, not a unit.

2) Same named abilities never stack, so you could use both of them, but the unit would only benefit once. If you had some other ability that increased movement (like Crusaders Call), that would stack of course.
