This is something I put together a while back with some random IG bits I had laying around from some other conversions. I don't use Cadians in my army, so the best use I could think of was simply to throw together a diorama that now doubles as an objective marker. All the bits are from the CCS box and the snap-fit Cadians, with the exception of the Cultist's head that comes from the old Tactical squad.






And a shot of the Cultist. This angle doesn't show it, but the missing hand has been painted as a bleeding stump. It's not just fallen off.



A couple more shots are in my gallery, but they're a bit blurry. I may need to re-do the freehand on the banner as well, although at 28mm it looks ok.

About the painting, I would maybe touch up the banner and try to bring out the sculpted detail, the paint could use another layer or two to strengthen the tones such as the white and yellow. I really like the moodiness of it all though, great work.

Yeah, the banner as ready been redone twice in the last year, I was torn between NMM and metallics, which is why the gold looks bad. Parts of it I tried to fix by washes to add depth, which didn't work.

If I can get my hands on another PCS banner, then I'm tempted to just swap the whole thing out. Failing that, I might just do one from heat-bended plasticard and go from there.

I like the idea of dioramas for an objective marker... Curious though, have you ever ran into any issues using a 40mm marker versus a 25mm marker?

It's actually a 60mm, but no one has ever complained. I play with a very casual group, and we'd much rather play for control of something like this than a 2p coin or whatever. It's pretty much a rule-of-cool thing, but I wouldn't take it to a tournament if I ever went to one.
