Insect-Infested Nurgle Chaos Lord

While I know this has been discussed before I felt that with the completion of FW's first set of HH books I'd ask again.
I believe it's mentioned somewhere in Age of Darkness (which I'll need to go through again).
Do the FW books have any indication of the World Eaters beginning to repaint their armour at this early stage in the Heresy?
Do any of the new ADB books shed light on this matter?

I've seen that listed as the almost "mythological" description of their armour change, but I doubt that's actually the case.

I don't know if this is what you were looking for. But when they were the warhounds their armor was white with blue trim. In the Butchers Nail's audio drama, Lorgar told Angron he should just paint his armor red.

Ok there are 4 kinds of current 40k world eaters
1: armour was repainted
2: covered in blood and the stains will never come off
3: never repainted there armour and still have blood splattered world eaters heraldry.
4: da warp done made the armour change so khorne be happy...er

The blood reasoning is pretty ridiculous beyond myth. Gav Thorpe, The Face of Treachery, Age of Darkness page 252 wrote: He was Skanda Vior, a World Eater too, and like Delerax and Kordassis was clad for battle in his armour. Unlike the officers, he had painted much of his armour red, a growing trend amongst the Legion; an acknowledgement of Angron's warrior cult. This story seems to take place during Isstvan V and would perhaps indicate that this had been going on before the Heresy or at least shortly after the events on Istvaan III. Just wondering if the FW Horus Heresy books expand on this?

Not that I'm aware of other than world eater destroyers having black armour.

Ah well, I might just go on that Age of Darkness quote.
I'm assuming "Angron's warrior cult" is a reference to the gladiator slaves he led before the Emperor stole him away?

It might be referring to the devourers his personal bodyguard, he hated them and thought they were useless, the rest of the legion considered them a joke.

Raven's Flight - the audiobook at least - says this about Isstvan V: "From this distance they were lines of blue and white, though much tainted with red. Some of the World Eaters had taken to daubing their armour with the blood of the fallen, marring their Imperial livery in defiance of the Emperor."

I can definitely see the blood thing being done after or mid battle I just imagine that they eventually begin to repaint their armour based on this practice.
I think I'll need to check out some of the new ADB books catch up on my World Eaters info.

The word bearers painted their armour red just before they surprised! The ultramarines.
So we could have that cool red vs blue battle.

Another secondary question would be how long after the start of the Heresy does it take for the World Eaters to start using Khornate icons on their armour? Certainly the Red Butchers look like they have proto-Khorne symbols.

I just read something, can't remember what because I just read a lot of HH books, that talks about a World Eater's sergeant and two other officers discussing a battle about to take place and it mentions the sergeant had repainted his armor red and it was a practice becoming popular with the legionaries. Sometime after Betrayer in the timeline.
