Probably a stupid question but if I use lahmian medium to water down paint, will it make a wash? I need to use a normal paint but apply it like a wash on my crons and would this be a better method than using water?

Yes mixing in the medium in the correct ratio with paint would create a wash of sorts. Iv'e never had a problem just using water with the GW paints. Some other brands would need other thinners though

Yep. Using a paint makes it a bit less transparent than an actual wash, though, as there's some extra white pigment etc. to make the paint more opaque. I think you can notice this where the 'wash' pools, it's quite thick. If you'd use transparent acrylic ink with Lahmian Medium, I imagine it would be very close to the stuff sold as a wash, with a bit softer transitions.

A glaze/airbrush-type medium like Lahmian has some surfactants so the pigment spreads out a bit better, and also some extra acrylic content to make it slightly thicker. This is why it handles a bit different than with just water - as on the video, you can see that adding water tends to make the pigment run into the cracks.
