My local shop is starting up a campaign soon and I wanted to get some opinions on a Pirate Warband list. Trying to keep the list fluffy and WYSIWYG with the models I have but I have no experience with Fantasy and want to be at least somewhat competitive.

Heroes
Captain: Dueling Pistol, Cutlass, Dagger
Ships Mate #1: Pistol, Cat O' Nine Tails, Dagger
Ships Mate #2: Axe, Cutlass. Pistol
Cabin Boy #1: Boat Hook, Belaying Pins
Cabin Boy #2: Cutlass, Belaying Pins, Dagger

Henchmen
Gunner: Handgun, Cutlass, Dagger
Crew x3: Cutlass, Pistol, Dagger

497/500 GC

I think I need more long range shooting but handguns are pretty expensive and bows/crossbows don't really fit the pirate theme. Hopefully I'll be able to add another Gunner with a Swivel Cannon after a few games.

Could you link the rules? The Mordheimer site seems to have evaporated into the ether.

K I've never seen or played a pirate band before, but generally you want lots of models on the table. Max heroes, and then enough henchmen to have 12 guys or more on the table. Unless you are a specialist shooting warband I wouldn't worry to much about ranged weapons. The amount of negative modifiers and low BS make it hard to hit until you gain experience and gain either BS or shooting skills. Early on with a band you want cheap close combat weapons, don't worry about armor or handguns until later. Get your cheap henchmen into combat with their shooters and try to gang up on enemy heroes. It's much better to pick off one enemy hero rather than to get all of them engaged.
