When moving off the battlements of a building or bastion, did they remove the leap down rules? I couldn't find it. If so, is there a restriction to how far down a unit can go?

Leap down is gone. I can't find any way of getting down (for standard infantry) without embarking, which obviously has large limitations.

My interpretation is that you can still climb up and down to rach battlements or the ground using the vertical movement rules. There just isn't a way to get the faster leap down movement.

I believe there is specific mention that a unit can embark (from the ground) directly onto the battlements.

They have also included the new rule about being able to charge when disembarking from buildings.

However, if you do not purchase the Escape Hatch upgrade, it does in fact seem that if your on the battlements you must Re-embark into the building and sit a turn before you can get out onto the ground.

Eihnlazer,
Can you please stop stating using the word 'embarked' when it comes to Battlements, that was a poorly thought out early 6th Edition Rule which has been invalid since Stronghold hit the shelves. Battlements are their own version of Terrain, treated as a separate entity from the Building they are attached too and governed by their own Rules and Regulations concerning how they function. Not once do these Rules state that the Unit embarks into this type of terrain, nor have I seen any specific instructions telling us how to move on or off this new type of terrain. Therefore, we have to conclude that it follows all the default instructions for moving onto Terrain.

That leads me to conclude it is the amount of movement available to the Model, compared to the hight of the building, which dictates if it can make it on or off said battlement.

The page you will be interested in is p111.

It defines exactly how a unit on a Battlement treats a result of 6 or 7+.
("The battlements are considered Ruins terrain for the rest of the battle" for 6)

As for standard movement, only embarkation is permitted through the building.

The wording on p111 leads me to think any battlements higher than 6" will kill the unit atop upon a result of 7 (they cannot move the 6" needed to get to safety (as per p21 and vertical movement)

I dont believe i have mentioned it very often before, so your hostility was unneeded.

Indeed however, you must "embark" into the building itself to reach the battlements unless you are jump/jet infantry seeing as how its too high for you to walk up the walls and get to it. You arent embarking into the battlements, your embarking the building and then exiting onto the battlements.

Stronghold assault says to treat battlements as upper level ruins. Nuse the brb for the rules. It's simple.

7th edition creates something known just as "Battlement's," detailing their own internal Rules which refers to this as a separate piece of Terrain and a few times as 'Battlements Terrain' but that could be poor sentence structure.
