hello dakka,

just wondering if anyone knows how to make greenstuff gems or jewels for space marines? every time i search in google all i get is WoW stuff and how to make greenstuff cloaks!!

its incredibly annoying as i have a project that is put on hold because i dont have the slightest how to make gems! the push moulds ive made just dont cut it either, as the gemstones are so small that they hardly imprint on the putty i have, thus rendering them as useful as a wet human turd in a blender...

cheers in advance!

What kind of jems?

I know you can make relatively round lens shapes by pressing with the end of a cheap ball pen with the tip removed.

quite outrageous

Have you tried a blob of paint or different glues onto a non sticky surface ie freezer bags or even masking tape that you can pick the blob/gem off once it sets?
Fibreglass resin is quite good for that as it dries rock solid yet is thick enough that it will keep it shape till it sets as a perfect little bubble.

mmmmmm the fibreglass trick will only work with rounded ones.... all I can suggest is using GS and make a cube then saw it across the diagonal or sculpt a pyramid shape and use a flat file to hone the edges to what you need.
Are you looking one the kinda size that would fit on a marines chest section?

You will probably get stuck sculpting each diamond ones by hand.
