Hey Dakka I'm a 17 old from Aus and after a recent Sesta for the hobby, I have decided to reboot my IG or whatever they called now . My First model back is a Bullgryn. These are fantastic modals to work with but the whole muscles on top of muscles thing really isn't working for me, so i decided to green stuff over a couple of them and create some nice wounds as well. Unfortunately the pictures look a bit washed out, I have been told to try a black back ground next time, what do you think? With this guy i wanted to try so new techniques like the foam babing and such. What do you guys think of him, how do you think he turn out? Zoomable Images also in the dakka galley. http://www.dakkadakka.com/core/gallery-search.jsp?u=38143 - ironhandstraken

Very nice, I love the almost gladiatorial look he has. The flesh tones are also very nice.
And they're still called the Imperial Guard, they always will be

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all. |

That is a sharp looking Bullgryn. The metal weathering on the shield is excellent, as is the soot and gore on the model's flesh. I have no trouble believing this guy was in the middle of a warzone bashing skulls with that mace.
How much putty work was needed to tone down the 'roided out muscles? I ask because yours looks like it would fit with the metal 5th edition Ogryns, which I like. I have some of those and want to add a few of the newer Ogryn/Bullgryn to the mix but I'd also like the two sets of models to blend together aesthetically as much as possible.

Not a lot surprisingly, even with my very limited skills. All I had to do was get a ball of green stuff about half a centimeter in diameter, then roll it out in to a log. Next i broke it up in to little pieces before working them in to the really deep muscles cavity. I all so worked some around the neck to make it look less like the head was a separate part. To smooth it out, I licked my thumb and used my thumb to work the green stuff in further.
Thanks again for all of the positive comments, how do you think i could improve my techneques?
