Just be aware that there is tremendous problems with 40k, and has been for years (and take that from someone who played years ago and finally had enough), to say nothing of GW being an absolutely terrible company. There are much better games out there, but it depends on if your local groups cares about them or not. You'll find a lot of vitriol on the forums here, most of it from longtime people who finally got fed up with GW's prices and lack of caring about anything beyond pushing product.
I see you're in the Tampa area, too. I can see the emphasis on 40k then, the big store in the area (Anthem) seems to only have 40k and nothing else going on, at least when I went there looking for alternatives. I've continually thought to get back in myself but GW as a company pushes me away (mostly with their prices) and having tried other games in the meantime, I see the 40k rules for how bad they are so I keep putting it off.
