hey guys. not posted a thread in a long time and since i played a game against 2 morkanauts yesterday i thought i might tell you how efficient they are and how to destroy them.

Strengths of the morkanaut:

apparantly for a barebones morkanaut its 130pts. its quite op when you look at the stats, (5hp) something like 14 front armour, 13 side and 12 rear. but my opponent decided to go hard on me, and decked it out with rokkits and the new custom mega kannon or whatever its called (im not an ork player and still dont fully understand the rules for it, so forgive me if im wrong) ound out the h ard way that your ground troops are never safe when these guys are about. just proceed with your normal tactics, but make sure you put a lot of firepower on the morks armour. (using open topped isnt wise, so if your a cron player like me, use monoliths and a lot of high toughness troups for your army, such as immortals, wraiths and lychaguard with shields)

Weaknesses of the mork:

Slow moving and low troop transport capacity. there are very few weaknesses on this, my opponents 2 morks stuck close together to benefit from the custom forcefields. there prone to attacks from the air, i mnaged to take ones rocket launcher down, but it managed to rapair in the next turn(using grot riggers, dont know if its bull or not) do NOT underestimate this new ork gizmo. especialy you, tyranid player.

feel free to ask questions or otherwise reply.

I think your opponent either cheated or you have got the details wrong, the Morkanaut is 230 points base, not 130. Additionally, its' armour is 13/13/12, not 14/13/12. Also, Grot Riggers confer the It Will Not Die special rule - this only restores hull points and does not affect Weapon Destroyed or Immobilized results.

The Morkanaut is an expensive generalist that will scare assault-based monstrous creatures to death as it is front armour 13 with four base attacks at Strength 10 AP1. A Wraithknight and possibly a Dreadknight could stand against it with natural Strength 10, but most other monsters would be silly to charge it. Keep in mind though that the Morkanaut is NOT a super-heavy walker and as such you can kill it one shot...though of course with its armour, potential force field and the improved vehicle damage chart this is unlikely. Still, five Sternguard with combi-meltas should end its day pretty quickly at close to half the cost unless it paid for the expensive kustom force field.

Ok. My opponent supplied me with the rules, but they were hand written so it's hard to tell whether they're cheating or not. They were also rather vague on details (2 players, SOS I didn't mention it earlier)

Well, there might have been Meks on board, and they can repair stuff, so that could be what happened.

Point S8+ gun at it and shoot? It's slow.. has poor firepower and costs a lot of points. Not much special is required.
