So I picked up my first Malifaux box (The MS&U) today, and I'm very excited to put it to use! There's just one question I've got about assembling the box. It looks like I can assemble this in such a way that I can either have two steam arachnid swarms, six steam arachnids, or one swarm and three arachnids. Is that right? I've got no idea which of these options is the best idea.

I decided to magnetize mine to their bases so I can do either, but if you're not going to magnetize, I'd suggest doing 3 & 1 or just 6, since Ramos spawns the little ones but not the swarms.
Next issue, I don't see how the brass arachnid and Howard Langston supposed to fit on their respective bases. It's an easy fix of making a cool base for them (which I was doing anyway, the two models are perfect for climbing all over things) but the default posing seems pretty far off the intended base size. Am I missing something there? Looking back at the older brass arachnid model, it seems like they scaled the model up without changing the base size to match.
It is a very tough fit to get them on, but it is possible (barely).
Your best bet is probably a decorative base with them scrambling over a stone or something similar.
For your smaller arachnids, magnetizing will save you a lot of money in the long run (you'll probably want at least another box). You can magnetize the spiders to swap between base sizes to become a swarm. You could also use nuts & bolts as a junkyard base to save on magnets (only needing 1 per spider instead of 1 on the spider and 1 on the base).
