Hi everyone,

Over the past few years, you may have noticed that the Australian painting scene has stagnated somewhat, despite the plethora of excellent painters from Oz; folks like Sebastian Archer, Kyle Morgan, Jamie Downward, and Mark Carlisle, to name a few.

A few mates and I got together, and we are going to do our part to bring back this fantastic aspect of the hobby back to Oz.

Lots of folks aren't from Oz - but we hope you visit us at some point - but we are hoping to seek your contributions to our effort. We cannot succeed without your help.

This isn't about money, nor fame, nor future rewards ... but it is about encouraging our community to join resources together. To all work together to improve our beloved hobby and foster the community spirit that keeps it alive.

To this end, we have started a new website - http://shakeyourbrush.com.

Everyone willing to collaborate is welcome. Right now, what we need is content, people who are willing to collaborate, to put together articles and tutorials, or help to populate our display gallery.

To wit:

Tutorials
We need any kind of tutorials. From basics to advanced techniques, as we will get all kind of level of viewers, even people that is starting their hobby.

Seriously, even a tutorial about how to undercoat your miniatures properly is helpful. We're all experienced painters here at SBY, and we have asked many hobbyists why they don’t paint their miniatures, and lots of them said that they didn’t know how to do it properly. Rather than have something that would look bad, they'd prefer to just have them undercoated. It’s not that they don’t have the will to paint, but the lack of knowledge because they have no one to teach them or get confused by all the conflicting articles out there.

In order to do this, you can send them to contact@shakeyourbrush.com in PDF format, text, Word, or even a simple e-mail. We will do all the editing necessary to make it look pretty, and publish it on SBY.

All the tutorials will be signed by their own authors, of course, and you can give us some contact details that I can attach if you want, such as your Facebook page, your e-mail address, etc.

Video tutorials are more than welcome as well.

If you already have articles and tutorials published elsewhere, we would love to link to it.

Articles
One of the sections of the website is called Tool-Kit. Here we will explain the different tools about our hobby, how to use them properly, comparisons, etc.

Any articles about this would be welcome.

Galleries
This section will be a display for top artists. We will create different galleries that are intended to be a perfect display for top miniatures and serve as a great inspiration for every painter.

Anyone can try to be in this part, but only the best will be on display in this section.

In order to get your own gallery, we need:

- Name or nick name of the artist.
- Small description about yourself, your style, your painting studio, etc.; complete freedom to say whatever you want!
- 5-10 pictures of your best work.

If you want any text under each image, just write it down as well.

Competitions & Events
We are going to run competitions and events through the website. All the information about that will be here.

There will be a League of Painters, competitions and tournaments, both for individuals and for teams.

Details will be forthcoming soon.

Commission Painters
This is basically a database of commission painters, so people can have easy access to them, compare, and decide who and what suits their needs best.

In order to register as a commission painter, we need the following details:

- Name of painting studio or individual Up to 6 pictures of your work.
- Services offered by the painting studio or individual.
- A few lines describing the painting studio or individual contact details.

Please e-mail these to contact@shakeyourbrush.com.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the SBY team on Facebook, or via the e-mail address above.

We hope to hear from you soon!

You have hotlinks to the email but not the actual website? Put that in such a long post. It is better retoric.

URL is in the paragraphs up top - the code didn't come out for some reason.

Edit:
Sorta fixed it. Doesn't have the nice anchor reference formatting, though.

looks good guys. There's a decent amount of content on this. I'm hoping some beginner tutorials trickle in.

@ Malkaven : were working on that, too, basics such as prep, greenstuff washing, priming and basecoating. Is there any specific topic you'd like to see?

For sure. I'll feed this back to the team, and we'll see if we can get some professional painters to contribute such articles.
