Hi guys,

So, I can't be the only one who is obsessed with the beautiful D20. I thought it would be neat to put up a trading block thread where everyone can post up pics of the D20s they have extra, and swap them with others who also have extras. This is similar to the Shae-Konnit split box thread in that the idea is for it to be a bit of a community service, where everyone can offer up their extra D20s to hopefully swap for ones that match their collection better!

Below are my extras, just click on the images to zoom in in the Dakka gallery. They are grouped by type. A text list going through the three columns of dice from left to right is:

5 Pink/Purple dice with white fill
5 Orange/Blue dice with white fill (Broncos colors!)
4 Blue/Silver dice with white fill

3 Pink/Black dice with white fill
2 Speckled Green/Orange dice with black fill
2 Solid Brown/Green dice with white fill
2 Blue/Black dice with white fill

1 Brown dice with black fill (swirl, not a solid color, but no obvious secondary color)
1 Copper/Black dice with white fill
1 Metallic Green/Red dice with white fill
1 Purple/Silver dice with white fill
1 Solid Green/Orange dice with white fill

I am especially interested in swapping for D20s with black fill in the numbers, as those will match the dice I'm using better. Looking forward to seeing other people's trading block dice!

Cool Idea. You need to identify the maker of the d20 too. Chessex, Koplow, Game Science-- although the last is really obvious-- etc.

Chessex underlines the 6 and 9 while Koplow has a dot underneath. IIRC.

Good point, Red Harvest! All of the above are Chessex

Given that this isn't seeming to get a lot of traction here, where do you guys source interesting D20s?

And is there a dedicated "dice swap" type portal somewhere? I googled but didn't find anything. If you know of one, let me know... I've seen a lot of blogs where people list their dice collections with some up for swapping, but not a centralized area for doing so.

Believe it or not, I bought most of my d20s from Dream Wizards. But this was back in the late '70's and early '80's when they were still in Congressional Plaza, and sold Games Science dice. And the d20s were marked 0-9 twice.

I've ordered stuff from Warstore and Miniatures market, and Game Science via Amazon. A place in North Carolina, Atomicempire has a decent variety for sale. There is a place, Brainstorm Comics, in Frederick, Md. which sells a variety of dice.

I like all the dice I have, so, nothing to swap. Nor have I encountered any place to swap them.

I certainly enjoy the concept. I have a hodgepodge of dice I've gathered over the ages, most of them Chessex, with a smattering of this and that. I'll try and get them organized when I get home and see whats what.

Not sure how many extras I have around...

Well done."

I buy my dice from a local store (whichever store happens to be local to where I am at the time). They aren't uncommon - if the store carries any kind of d&d related stuff (or pathfinder).

Although my d20s were all sourced years ago - when only *spits* D&D used them - and so they were unceremoniously dumped into a drawer and forgotten; ignored for decades.

Now that I actually need them to play a game - they remember and are paying me back in spades.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

As someone who was vice-president of my school's RPG club, I collected many sets of polyhedral dice (you'd be surprised how many people don't bring their own dice to meetings...) I think I just wandered the isles of my FLGS and grabbed 4-5 sets of Chessix ones that looked cool.

By this point I have at least 8 sets of polyhedral dice. I can provide enough dice for both players, as long as you don't mind the fact that no two sets actually match each other.

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!
