Games workshop and Forgeworld (also a lot of other 3rd party companies) should incorporate more Gretchin and Grot units. Like the Grot suicide bombers, Grot command squad, Night Goblins, maybe even a cheap goblin squad (10-15 dollars) that had only melee and were a horde, Just like these cuties: https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQJQpDBWIhNkQQS4ez8yrYVAjQk9z1lxauuWYNmnB_jqEGalQ2e

A digga should be a real thing. It would be a nice addition and a perfect new unit with the new ork codex coming out.
But really, wouldn't more gretchin be cool even if none of mine were a decent idea?
p.s (a snotling unit would be funny and cool xD)

They used to have snotlings. I one took a unit of Snotlings in a 500 point game and marched them up to an Avatar. At that point I revealed the Runtherd had a vortex grenade. There was a tense moment when I failed the "to hit" roll but the scatter dice came up "Hit" so the Avatar got sucked into the warp.
In other games they were ammunition for my shokk attack gun.
In 2nd ed, you had to shoot at the closest thing so it was standard practice to buy 20 -- 40 Grethen anduse them as a meat shield across your entire army.

I think it's be kind of cool. Goblins play a comparative larger role in Fantasy than Gretchin do in 40k, to the point where you get all-gobbo armies. So having an all-Grot army, or just a few more options, would be another way to mix up Orks' playstyles.

I doubt it would actually be a different army than IG though.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

I have an old ice cream tub behind me that's full of about fifty Gretchin in Flak Armour armed with Autoguns.
All in perfectly matched poses ready to march into battle in good order. hehe.

Paint them as Goff grots or Bloodaxe grots.
I did mine
They actually look pretty cool all lined up for parade inspection.
Now i just need to model up a bloodaxe Kommisar warboss with a lucky swagger-stikk to do the inspektin'

A friend of mine was recently bemoaning the lack of grot representation in 40k, while talking about Fantasy. It definitely sounds like something people would like. However, grots are what, 2pts? From personal experience I can say that playing Tyranids and using large broods of 6pt gaunts is really bad enough. I think I would just have to politely decline playing against someone who has that many models to move each turn.
Maybe we'll get a stand-alone Codex: Gretchin, and an additional Gretchin Detachment for our Battle-forged armies, and a dataslate that allows them to spawn d6d6d6 grots a turn. If the enemy gives up, the grot player must then throw their iPad at their head.

3 pts, assuming they stayed the same.
You can get absolutely SILLY amounts of grots on the field. No-one sane will do this though, as it's just not worth the backache of moving them. You can actually move super-hordes quite quickly with practice, but you will still running that list the next day unless you still have the flexibility of youth...
Whether they will actually do anything useful is more debatable.
Best result for me was a 20 man squad gunning down three Deathwing Knights on overwatch, and killing another in CC.
Most games they just die or run away though...
I can see myself running a Grot Armee list based heavily on Kanz and artillery though...
