Battle Barge Impossible Fortress

My opponent said that his huge unit of Possessed with Mark of Tzeentch are not affected by "Banishment" when Ahriman manifested it, because the MoTz keeps giving +1 at all times.

I don't agree with this, and I can't find any discussion on it. During the game I just said "ok" and kept using Gate of Infinity to move Ahriman away (he wanted Slay the Warlord bad) but if Banishment would take them down to a 5++, I'd just focus a few units of TS on them and call it quits. What's the deal?

I guess its technically possible, for crimson slaughter possessed with the mark of tzeentch and sanctuary/cursed earth cast on them, to be effectively immune to banishment.

In your example, yeah they'd cancel out.
