Though in the wrong sub forums, Hirst arts makes molds that you can use to cast your own stuff out of plaster. Otherwise extruded polystyrne insulation foam is cheap ( should ) be available in most places, and generally strong enough for use. so long as you arnt chucking your dice into it or stepping on it.

thanks man! although i think polystyrne insulation foam wont be able to give the same detail as the image above. im going to try my luck with polymer clay and hopefully cast and mold them.

We don't have pink/blue foam here in the Philippines: it's a tropical country so there's no need for winter insulation. Sad for us.
GS would work but it's very time-consuming and expensive. The above-mentioned method of Hirst Arts is your best bet: it would be more economical without sacrificing detail, but the trade off is you invest more time in making your tiles.
You can use Plaster of Paris or Dental Plaster for the tiles when going with the Hirst route. Normal plaster would be available in most hardware stores (although they would be very expensive at 60 pesos per kilo). For best bang for the buck, buy it at Polymer: they sell it at 90 pesos per 5 kilos, last time I checked.

I don't know about their other stores but the one I go to is in Diliman, Commonwealth in QC, near Diliman Preparatory School. This is assuming you live in the NCR region.

Insulation prevents/slows all heat transfer i.e. keeps things cool too.
So have a look you should find something of the like. These foams are most often used for roofing, so look for brands like Dow Or products like Roofmate.
There as also modelshops in the Uk that sell small peices (say 300mm x 300mm) in packs if you really are at a loss for local supplies, it's lightweight so shipping shouldn't be too prohibitive.

Believe me, I've tried looking for pink/blue foam in every corner of our capital. Every hardware or home depot, I even asked people who design houses where they get insulation foam and they're like, what we don't use that. They use some sort of rollable shiny foam thingie. Idk what it's called, but it looks very tacky.
And godmusico, yes I do. I get them at Deovir Art Supplies: they have a complete selection of Vallejo paints (best bang for the buck brand which is also high quality in my opinion: more acrylic for cheaper the price and same quality), among other art supplies. Before that, I stuck with Neutral Grounds (they sell GW paints, but usually the stock in NG is already dried up) and National Bookstore for brushes. National Bookstore sells ISU Chinese Calligraphy brushes. They're like 18 pesos a pop and pretty okay with detail work. Not on the level of a good Sable brush but it does its job. At a pinch you can also use Liquitex or Grumbacher acrylics (also in National Bookstore), but only if you really can't find paints.
http://www.deovirarts.com/ Deovir's website. I think they do deliver. It's worth it if you buy things in bulk and have them delivered, I guess? Hope they deliver to Cebu, so just email them to find out, I guess.

No probs - glad I could help.
I've got an old Rackham mag that shows how to do something similar - I will try to dig it out, scan it & post if I remember!
