Hi all, I tried a me vs me game recently with the quickstart rules and I was just wondering why there are multiple boxes showing the same system? For example, if my warjack takes a wound which damages his Cortex, the system is crippled. Why is there a need to have another C in the next box below that will take wounds? Wouldn't it be redundant and cause no further effect?

A system is only crippled if ALL of the relevent boxes are marked - not just one. It's in the first line after "Crippling Systems" in the quick start rules.

So to cripple the cortex, all three C boxes need to be taken out. It's very important generally, but especially when you have effects like the Cygnarian Lancer's "Shock Shield", which does a point of cortex damage on each hit regardless of arm.

Hope that helps

Yep that helps. I actually read it a few times but missed the word "all" every single time! Need an eye check.

Thanks!

One thing about this game, take the time to reread everything, and read it slowly to make sure. The rules and special things on the cards do exactly what they say they do and are very definite in their wording.

And you'll still be making mistakes months later

I glossed over the word 'battlegroup' in Kaelyssa's Phantom Hunter spell for a long, long time. When I was finally corrected I realized that Eiryss with Phantom Hunter did seem to good to be true....

Years into this and I still have to double check for things like 'within' and 'completely within', 'friendly'/'friendly faction', are the words enemy or living in there....

I shall express myself to the fullest, regardless of state or local laws. -me-
