At the tender age of 44 I've finally succumbed to tabletop gaming. I'd managed to resist D&D, Warhammer and the like, but my wife recently bought me the Xwing miniatures core set, we played a few 'quick start' games and I'm getting reeled in.

I'm a big Star Wars fan, but until now all my gaming has been PC or console. I'm also a member of the UK Garrison of the 501st costuming group and at an event at the Space Centre in Leicester last weekend we staged an impromptu photo op with my set and some ships another guy brought with us in costume...2 TIE pilots Vs 1 Rebel pilot. Chatting to the other guys soon had me checking out various Xwing related sites on the net looking for people to play Xwing with, which eventually lead me here.

Currently building up my fleets, leaning more towards the Imperials though will be expanding my dirty rebel fleet over time too.

Desperately trying not to splurge loads of cash at once, trying to stick to around £30-ish per month - second core set + Advanced TIE due to arrive in the next day or two.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
