Subject: Adjusting Point Costs

Spent some time over the weekend comparing costs between the supremely outdated 5th edition BA codex with that of the SM and DA codices.
Noticed some things that I felt could easily be changed to match what could possibly appear in the new BA codex this year that I want to apply to my current list
1. Tactical Marine prices down from 90 point base and 16 pts per model as is the case in BA codex to 70 point base with 14 pts per model as is listed in the other SM codices.
2. Rhino costs in BA is 50 points each, changed it to 35 to balance with the other SM codices
3. Vindicator 145 in BA codex, in SM, changed to reflect
4. Librarians are 100 base with a 50 point upgrade to what would be now ML 2, changed this to reflect the larger cost between the SM codex, 65 with 35 point upgrade. C:SM upgrade is 25, as DA is its own thing I decided it would be best to match the price of the DA
Also adjusted the point for weapons and options to reflect as well.
Tactical in comparison between BA and DA with the same loadout is 5 points more for BA without any changes so changes here may not be needed, for the others though, decent enough change in price. More expensive vehicles with option prices more expensive than other SM factions, specifically the cost of additional vehicle things like Storm Bolters

BA pay for their vehicles being fast. If you drop the price - drop Fast.

There are a few issues i have with the points
1. a tactical squad would probably have to be 1 point hire due to the red thirst
2. Rhinos probably need to the 40 because they are fast , pretty much for all the vehiles make them SM cost +5 for fast
3. I agree Libys should be less proabbly 65 just like in the SM codex but in the faq they have already dropped the Lvl2 upgrade to 25pts
if they reflected this and gave us some relics I would be so happy with the codex love my Blood Angels even if they frustrate me

Fast is easily worth 15 points. BA vehicles are so much more flexible for having that. Vindicators, Whirlwinds and Razorbacks can move 12" and fire normally, predators can scoot-and-shoot effectively (or even move 12" and fire 2/3rds of their weapons at full BS), Rhinos can move 24" per turn.

Yeah didn't notice fast before, not gonna adjust anything there.
Didn't change anything to the Tacticals yet, a lot of their costs are built into them because their weapon options are cheaper, i.e., free Missile Launchers and such so it mostly is just the Librarians lol

Yep, a BA tactical squad with a melta and a missile launcher (and default vet sgt) is exactly the same price as a Codex SM squad with the same loadout. It still does screw people who want to make smaller squads with less wargear (a basic BA 5 man tac squad is 90 points vs 70 points for a Codex SM squad), but for the most part their tactical squads are not as overpriced as people say they are. If the rumored new Blood Angels codex comes out, I expect them to change the tactical squads to be priced more like what's in the Codex: SM book. Red Thirst shouldn't matter when calculating point values, since it's effectively the Blood Angels Chapter Tactics.
