I want to mix up my skeletal units, and am considering Mantic Mummies/Skeletons or Tomb kings. I worry, though, that the tomb kings will look out of place next to their ill-equipped brethren.

If you build both VC skeletons and TK skeletons at the same time, you could mix and match parts so that every model is a bit of a hybrid, then they would all look the same. I can't say what it'd look like done but I wouldn't be inclined to mix them. There's only one way to find out though, try it!

VC skellies are a slightly different scale to TK skellies. I found that out trying to do an Ind VC army.

This. The VC skellies look much better and realistic than the TK dkeletons, and I doubt the pieces will match.

Not sure why you would add TK skellingtons to the VC version. They're lot older and look a fair bit worse. I think the scaling, so the same body parts would be different sizes.

The TK skellies are a lot older and worse looking than the VC skellies. If you want to mix things up, I would heavily recommend buying some skellies from Mantic. Mantic has a fair bit of variety, and you can combine them with VC parts to get even more variety.

I've decided on buying some non-human skeletons (One or two from each race) from here: http://www.battlezone-miniatures.co.uk/shop/category/197
As well as a box of mantic's. However, I feel the Mantic skeletons are a bit too armored compared to the VC barely-clothed minis. Would mantic Mummies look better?

TK Skeletons are fatter-boned.

It could also be on purpose though. The average Khemri was 7-9 feet tall and much stouter than other men. It's likely just a bad sculpt though.

Those are some really nice skellingtons. Each race of skeleton looks unique.

TK skeletons: Proof that some people really *are* just big boned...

As far as mixing them in, I think paint and presentation goes a very, very long way to pulling off anything like what you're talking about.

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

The current TK skeletons used to BE the VC skeletons, without the Khemri-styled shields and heads.

The bones are big, because in an old WD interview they said they'd beefed-up the thickness of the bones and weapons so they wouldn't break as easily while gaming.
