Dakka is definitely the best place to ask about this stuff, so here goes.

Are there any dvds worth buying about Dinosaurs? With animations ideally. Just something entertaining wise. I remember David Attenborough did a series but never watched it, any good?

And any space ones that aren't like "wow, check out these black holes", you know the ones aimed purely for entertainment and throw round theories willy nilly. Or are they all like that? I know books are the best for this but i struggle with books and only own 4 plus a few Codexes which i haven't 100% as i day dream after a page or two.

I used to listen to a lot of podcasts around science/ astronomy but don't find myself in the position to listen to them much atm.

Any Youtube ones i could check out? I do have a little YT browse when in bed.

Thanks in advance.

Have you ever seen Walking with Dinosaurs? If not go and watch walking with dinosaurs, it has the voice of Kenneth Branagh and is pretty good and accurate.

Space movies that are primarily made for entertainment and science fiction oriented?

Or....movies about space that are more educational and less geared toward entertainment (but can be entertaining for the right audience)....?

I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.

Three!! Three successful trades! Ah ah ah!

Through the Wormhole is pretty awesome. Most of the first couple of seasons are focused more on "standard" physics and cosmology. However, the later seasons (including the current one) get in to crazy theories and metaphysics if you are in to that kind of stuff. How the Universe Works is pretty neat too.

Another one I really enjoyed was Wonders of the Universe. It was hosted by Prof. Brian Cox who is very entertaining to listen to. It also had good music and awesome graphics.

They're sending posters that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing strawmen. They're bringing spam. They're trolls. And some, I assume, are good people."

Walking With Dinosaurs is seminal watching for anyone with an interest in big reptilian beasties, and has yet to be surpassed as dino documentaries.

Not sure about the space ones, but the recommendations above are pretty good. You'll either really like the stuff with Brian Cox, or really hate it (I actually find him rather annoying, but I can't argue with the science side of it).

If you just want something that's amusing, often very tangential and still rather informative, check out QI, it's the perfect mix of hilarious and educational, and all on youtube to boot.
