So I've played Mercenaries in Warmachine for a long time now, almost since they were their own standalone army. But in all that time, I've never run a proper Rhulic army, in any of the contracts. It took me many years to even buy the Forgeguard, even though they are a staple in many Merc lists. I've decided to remedy that and run a full on Searforge list in all it's limited glory! While the results have been mixed (currently 1-2) I'm certainly having fun painting them up. I'm a tabletop quality painter, so I won't be winning any awards. I do know I have to practice faces and skin tones in general as they leave much to be desired. Well here's the army so far:

I'd say decent tabletop mate! I reakon we're probably at the same level of painting so I don't have much advise however one tip I read somewhere about skin tones is to add a little purple to the mix... it sounds a bit weird but does work. It makes it look a little more natural!

Always good to see WM/H popping up!

Need more 's in my life!

Thanks for the tip! I've added a few more layers to the flesh and think it helped on the Officer of the Highshield UA, but still kinda flat on the standard bearer. Fortunately the TAC wear masks!

Good looking TAC you got there. I even like the nice simple basing with them.

Finished up my Ogrun Assault Corps today. That's the last of my big units, starting with character units and solos next!

Finished up Herne and Jonne today. I figured I should paint them as they were some of my oldest PP minis without paint on them!

I wanted the skintone to stand out a bit. The armor is tan, leather and bags are brown so I figured grey would stick out a bit more. And still match as I use grey as an accent color on the rest of the Searforge.

Finished up my two Blasters today. Cheated a bit on these as I had bought them second hand so this was really a repaint, but they match my army now! I still need to get a least two Gunners to round out my gunbunnies, but I think the Earthbreaker is next on my buy list.

I finished up General Ossrum, Thor and an Ogrun Bokur. I'll be picking up an Earthbreaker tomorrow so that'll be my next project for the Dwarves.

Finished up my Earthbreaker finally! Forgot how much of a pain it can be to paint huge models.
